Hi everyone

I have a strange cat / dog question!

Otis gets walked every morning at the same time and gets so excited he trembles and waits with big moon eyes ready to go. He also makes a purring sound - so I am hoping someone elses whippy does this or he has been living with six cats for too long! :- )

It is a very sweet soft purr and he is obviously doing it because he is so excited and happy to be going out for his walk.

So is he turning into a cat or is this a normal whippy behaviour!

Bluebell 'rolls her r's' when she's excited but when she snuggles into me she does purr and groans, I love whippets!!!

and she's never lived with a cat!

Dolly makes a little purring noise when she is excited - usually before going for a walk. It is hard to describe how it actually happens, but she sort of blows air in her mouth which makes her top lips 'reverberate/rattle'. :lol: :lol: It's really sweet. :wub: :wub:

Yep, my puppy Tabetha "purrs" when she curls up on my lap. Aren't whippets the best! :wub:

most of mine purr but indy when she had her brocken legs and could just get things got a real vocabulary going for things she wanted she can purr chirip twitwer allmost whistle and shes uses diffrent sounds for differnt things

I've known several greyhounds do this, and Jess my whippet X does it too. It's so sweet :wub:

Um yes Otis is a typical boy and burps and farts too - usually secretly when we are all relaxing watching the TV!

They do make lovely noises - Otis blows his lips out the side too when he is excited - as well as his lovely purr.

My heeler clucks like a hen about to lay an egg when he gets really excited. Maybe I should go for a purring whippet as my second dog - just to really confuse people!
