A friend of mine has a 2 year old Kelpie that she has decided needs to be rehomed. He is a great dog, very happy and obedient and loving, and fantasic with kids as he has been brought up with her son who is now 5. He gets on very well with other dogs and loves playing with mine. He is ever so kissy and cuddly and loves to be loved.
She was given him as a puppy by a friend and has brought him on gently for agilitly. However she has recently had to go back to work and has found it impossible to give him the time he requires. He is on the go all the time and needs tons of mental stimulation, I have never some across quite such an active dog. She just feels that he is really bored and miserable having to be in the house all day even though he has another dog as a companion.
It has been a heart rending decision for her and having made the decision she advertised him on Agilitynet. A lovely couple came and spent the day with him and decided that they would have him. However two weeks later they have decided that he is 'not good enough at agilty' and are bringing him back. They insist that he comes back this week.
She is terribly worried as she has explained to her son that the dog has gone to live with other nice people and doesn't want the dog or her son to be confused by the dog coming back for a while until another home is found.
I have tried to get a friend who runs a rescue to help, but as she only does greyhoundsand lurchers she has found it difficult to get him a foster home in a hurry.
If you know of any one who would like this loving boy or would be able to foster him until his new home is found, please contact me ASAP. THank you.
