Hi guys,

Does anyone use a car harness for their dog? If so, how do you find them?

I'm trying to think of safety measures for my 'tripod' dog. I've never used a car harness for him as he is happy to just sit and look out of the window....but his new 'three legged status' will change his ability to balance. Just wondering if anyone has one and how they find it.

Many thanks

i had them for ruby and star when they were wee, i would say they were good, but ruby and star are bad travelers and spent the whole time trying to wriggle out of them (not that they ever got out)

ii would say if your dog is a good traveller and is good at sitting on the seat, i think the harness would be perfect for them

Most good pet shops would have them, or google car harnesses for dogs, I am sure loads will come up!!!!!!!

Good luck, I do know a few people who use them just to know the dog is secure and not about to leap about the car, also in case of an accident.

Thanks guys. I'm just thinking that with 3 legs it may be better to keep him steady and stop him from being flung around the car if he loses his balance.

We use an RAC one in the campervan for Izzy and it's very good, but she will sit quite well

I have one for Molly which I got from pets at home, you can attach your lead for walking to it as well. She is great with it and it does keep her in one place in the car, I got it after she crawled under the drivers seat as I was driving, not very safe  would totally recommend one!
