I have heard that you can use carob powder as an alternative to chocolate and it's low fat. You can also use it as icing but is it doggy safe? I've heard it is but I need a second opinion. Thanks!

i personally wouldnt give chocolate in any form to my dogs rather give them a nice juicy bone instead at least i know its safe

Carob is derived from the pods of the carob tree - it has a taste similar to chocolate but doesn't contain theobromine, the substance responsible for making chocolate toxic to dogs. So yes it is safe to use in recipes for dogs if you want to give them "chocolate" treats
