Cars for dogs...

Toughie - it depends what you want..

I have a Rav4 and I love it for my ruffers, but its expensive to run and tax etc....

This really depends on the amount you are willing to pay, the size of the dogs and the runnings costs of the car.

Would you consider an estate car, Volvo do some good ones.

Molly has a great space in the back of my Touran, but whether your dogs would get enough space is entirely down to the size of the dogs really. If they're big dogs then can I suggest you look at Renault Kangoo (or Citroen do one almost identical, could be a Berlingo) type vans, which have a side sliding door but you can remove some or all of the back seats to give the beasties a big space that you can wash down really easily.

Surely it depends on your climate as well? Here we need a 4x4 in the winter so my Subaru Forester copes with that and has ample room for my 4 dogs. They are between a dog guard and a tailgate guard to protect them in the event of an accident.

i've got a peugot partner, which is similar to the kangoo. Slidy doors are a bonus if you have to get the dog out of the car in a car park. Tbh i used to have a kangoo, and i preferred it, but the peugot's meant to have a better engine, or thats what the bloke that sold it to me said ;) (my dad)

its just the normal car one, but the seats do go flat, or just one or two, and its pretty low for a dog to jump in.

I recently bought a tiny little Suzuki Alto (incredibly cute and cheap to run) folded the seats down and a Ferplast Atlas 100 pet carrier fits perfectly inside, plenty room for 2 beagles to move around in and they are safe if anthing happens, and I can leave the boot open and they can see out and get fresh air.

We have a Fit Multipla which fits 4 of the 5 kids in and 2 small nutty dogs :)
