my friend's dog is only about 3 years old but already has a cataract in one eye.
He is young, very lively, a sighthound - but seems to cope well with only one good eye
Nevertheless, we would like to know if anyone has experience of canine cataract operations.
apparently they cost about £700 per eye and although the cataract is removed, no new artificial lens is put in as would be done with a human
without a lens, does the dog really see much better (much more light comes into the eye but the vision will be unfocussed)?
do pet insurers cover cataract operations and if so, under what circumstances?
