My condolences too to Karen, Mick and family. Blade was a lovely dog, and a great part of the Bear dynasty - he will be long remembered.

This was a truly tragic event, and one we never want to see the like of again.

It brought a sharp, and not very welcome reminder that we race our dogs at a risk. It is as minimal as we can make it and days like this are thankfully rarer than hens teeth, but there IS a risk.

That said, a heart attack, if indeed that is what it was, can happen at any time under any circumstances, and as someone else said, at least Blade was doing something he loved to do.

I would just like to say thank you all so much for the kind words from everybody.

I still have not stopped crying it was such a shock, he was such a bouncy character at home.

This is such awful news to return to - (We've been away since Friday and didn't get back till this morning so I've only just heard it.)

So sorry Karen & Mick, I can imagine how awful this must be for you. Such a lovely dog as well. You have my deepest sympathy.
