Dolly is 6 years old. When she was a pup she had a distinctive white blaze which has gradually disappeared.

Dolly at 4 months.

It would be interesting to see photos of whippets that have changed as they mature, and also those that have retained their markings. :)

I do find whippet colouring fascinating, it hardly looks as if Dolly had her blaze at all now...I think Whippets age in the best possible way and get more and more gorgeous as they do so :) Dolly certainly has

Bless  Dolly is such a pretty girl.

Lilly is a blue brindle, now 6 and she has developed a silver muzzle in the last year. Suits her.

Toddy is only 2 and is going grey around the muzzle. I think Blues and blacks do show the silver hairs more quickly.

I remember someone posting all about it on here once. Apparantly its some sort of a genetic glitch rather than an age issue which cause whippets to lose their facial blue and black colouring particularly around the muzzle over time. :(

Aww I just love Dolly....thanks for sharing the comparison photos Sarah....amazing how they change so much...

My Oscars white blaze which was rather narrower than Dolly's is gradually disappearing too.... :( he was six this year.

Love that first picture  Zana is only young and

already her blaze is fading

I remember the topic about it being to do with the genetics of the dog - it was really interesting. Unfortunately I can't remember who posted the info. :-

Awww Dolly  Penny's face has changed slightly, when she was a pup her blue mask went up above her eyes and covered most of her face. Now it looks more defined and sits below her eyes and its also starting to go a bit grey.

Gracie is a red fawn and had the blackest of black masks. Now, at 18 mths, there is some black left but most has been overtaken by the light fawn colour under her tummy - NO IT'S NOT GREY!!!
