The feedback we have received following the Chatsworth weekend all seems very positive which is really nice for us to hear and makes all the effort put into making it a success both beforehand and on the weekend worthwhile. Many of us thought that it was one of the best for a while. We were a bit concerned midweek with all the adverse weather conditions that we may be washed out but thankfully the rain and winds died down and all went well.There was a very nice atmosphere and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves with some very keen competition taking place. We would like to thank all the competitors who attended and took part because without you there would be no show. Congratulations to all the prizewinners,you did very well because the standard was very high. We would also like to thank all the judges and helpers, you all did a sterling job from the setting up to the stripdown at the end,well done. Friday we ran the Superdog competition, this is mainly for on site members to give them a chance to compete but anyone with a lurcher can join in. The competition consists of 4 disciplines,simulated coursing, straight racing, hurdle racing & long jump, with the dogs competing in all 4 and gaining points depending on how far they progress in each. There is also a team competition,drawn at random.

Saturday saw the running events taking place in the morning followed in the afternoon by the Junior Handler Championship and then the open show.

Sunday again saw the running events take place in the morning followed by the open show and then the N.L.&R.C. Lurcher Championship at 4pm.

Unfortunately I have somehow managed to mislay the file with Saturdays results in but with some help from friends I think I have nearly all of them,the only one's that I'm missing are the Under 23" racing, for that I apologise.

On the Tuesday pm we had a heartstopping moment when a 32 tonner decided to take a short cut across the ice pond we have our rings on. Now its called the ice pond because under the surface is a large natural ice house chamber which is not built to take large trucks.Fortunately he got stuck before any real damage was done!!!!

We had a great weekend,especially Sunday,it was great to watch Vicky win with Secret.

Sonia it was a pleasure to have been offered to Judge at such a prestigious event, the little momento was cracking . I had a brilliant weekend and thought the standard of dogs in both showing and racing was superb and id go as far as saying the best ive seen over there for a while. Nice bunch of owners too. Keep your eye on young Jasons dog Sandy and no need to mention Ron and Wendys Sonny (thank God Colt wasnt running :sweating: ) Those 2 are flyers. Pete and Amandas Finn is always in around the top spot too in the unders. Hurdling Demon and father-to-be is Storm, Deb and Ians dog..fantastic over those speed jumps. In the Showing im not going to mention that bloody woman Grocock ! Kidding Vik.

Yes it was a lovely weekend especially for Vicky who did the double on Sunday, a lovely dog who reminds us of our old dog Duke, Shadow's grandad.
