I’m having trouble thinking of present ideas for people, so I thought I’d ask on here for help.

Is there any original (i.e. not cosmetics, dvd’s etc) present ideas that you have for your friends and family that could help to give us ideas?

for my cousin ive always bought them one of those cheese selection and wine from asda or morrisons, but thought i would shock them this year and ive done them a christmas cake,it will be very boozy by the time they get it :p

Sent my boyfriend diving with sharks last year > Tony's shark dive

Don't know how I'm going to top that this year! (w00t) PM me folks cos he'll be stalking! :- " :p

WELL AS MOST OF MY FAMILY IGNORE ME,I ONLY HAVE TO BUY FOR ADAMS PARENTS ,ADAM & THE KIDS,SO I'M NO HELP I'M AFRAID

Hmmm...I'm not great at choosing presents either!

My dad smokes in the the garden, and at this time of year he sits in the green house to smoke, so previous christmases I bought him a little parafin heater for in there, and a rechargeable lantern from the camping shop which came with a little remote so he can turn it on on his way down the garden. Both presents went down really well.

In the past I've also bought him one of those fancy lighters that won't blow out in the wind.

Last year in one of the DIY stores I saw a little thing for your coffee table with several compartments designed to hold remote controls upright and tidy in the middle of the table. It also had slots round the side where you could insert your photos - my mum loved it!

Husband is fairly easy as he collects films so always has loads of DVD's he wants, and also is mad about his computer and is always after some game or other. I also bought him one of those mousemats that plugs into a USB port and has a glowing blue light round the edge - he loves stuff like that! :D

I've been looking at stuff on IWOOT  There are some unusual things on there .....

I never know what to get my OH - he's the world's worst nightmare to buy a pressie for (w00t) . The only thing I've ever succeeded with was a birthday trip to Stamford Bridge to see Chelsea play Liverpool, on the day of his birthday, with an overnight stay and a stadium tour (at least he was in a good mood 'cos Chelsea won :sweating: )

Good luck with your shopping! :luck:

Some great ideas.

Diving with sharks sounds great, probably a bit out of my price range at the mo though!!

I did once get my hubby a days rally driving for his birthday. The drive home was fun!!

Hi

I have a couple of relatives and friends who I am stuck for so this year I am making them hampers. I have got some really nice baskets out the 99p shop and some tissue paper. Each one is going to have a home made xmas cake in the middle. I will ice and decorate it. Then I have been buying chocs, biscuits, jams, chutneys, crackers, tapinade, jellys anything really that is slightly different and a good make. I am yet so sit down and work out who is having what but I think it will be really nice. It has probably cost me more than I would normally spend but as i have been buying them weekly I havnt noticed the cost. One of them is for a friend she is getting a cheaky xmas decoration in hers I found which is like a private joke between us. making it a touch more personal.

My daughter is going to do something similar for her school friends but with smaller baskets and have them filled with home made bath bombs and various smelly soaps. Think it will be nice and more personall than buying them ready made. She can also do them to the individual tastes

Who are you buying the presents for - babies, kids, older people etc? That might help you get some more good suggestions (there are great ones here already  )

I have a fab book that my mum gave me last year called "The Global Shopper" - she knows me so well :- " It has the author's recommended internet shopping websites from all over the world. The US dollar is weak at the mo so I was thinking of looking at some American websites for pressies this year. Some of the ideas in the book are really unusual and I thought they would make great ideas for pressies.

I'll be looking for maximum impact at minimum cost this year (ie. bargains) as my Christmas fund changed mid year into the Whippet fund!!!!!!! (w00t)

We are also thinking of oprdering some stuff from here this year:

http://www.firebox.com/

They have a 'doggie driver' which we are buying for a friend - its like a golf club but designed for tennis balls - we're buying one for a friend as he has taken up golf, so can practice his swing whilst playing with his dog on the beach! (w00t)

We're also thinking of the USB chargable batteries for someone - look like normal batteries but top flips up so you can plug them into the USB port on your computer to charge...

The home made hampers are a good idea! Yum!

I work in cosmetics and we have a shop on site so I am making my own soap and body butter gift boxes.

I am still stuck for ideas for my dad (never really wants for anything!) and 2 brother in laws and 2 sister in laws!

For the littlies, I am going to let their parents decide what I am buying them!!!
