Classic English Whippet Derby 2012

I went over this morning and the actual track is not too bad at all. Just wet from all the rain but with this strong wind it will dry out well.

Pic on face book does not actually show the track, only the side of it where the people stand.

Thanks for making the facts a lot clearer Audrey, the track is actually drying out nicely, please come and take some more photographs tomorrow so that those people who are showing an interest in it will get a clearer picture. See you tomorrow Audrey, kettle will be on

and doughnuts bought.

Latest weather report, Friday sunshine with light shower first thing in the morning, Saturday sunny all day, Sunday sunny all day.

The council have very kindly given us permission to use another part of the sports field if we need to, but as things are now we don't think it will be needed.

Thanks for the hospitality Doreen. Looking forward to those doughnuts. The atmosphere even in the pouring rain this morning was good

and those already arrived are looking forward to this great event. Glad others are putting their tents up, I only jibbed at putting mine up because of my 'great' age and arthritus. However I will be there camping tomorrow and looking forward to running Rudi Saturday. Will take more pics tomorrow and show how springy the track is

Good Luck to everyone running in the Derby. Hope the weather changes for you all. Look forward to seeing results on saturday. Good luck :luck: especially to the north east dogs Skoshi Tiger and Zeus and Beau Belle not sure who else is going from here, hope you all come off safe and sound. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
 
Good morning everyone

Friday morning and it's very blustery, but that will help to dry the ground out.

After consultations with the groundsman it has been decided to put Plan B into action.The track has been marked out and the ground is lovely, so those racers who are going to be racing here will be more than pleased.

Lookind forward to a good week-ends racing. A few more caravans arrived overnight, and a couple more this morning. I have had calls to say that people are on their way, have a safe journey for those who are about to set off.

I will give further updates later on.

sorry I can't be there was looking forward to it but DUFFY in season and IZZY not quite back to form yet anyhow hope everything goes well see you all in July :thumbsup:
