Club Racing 10/02/08

What a difference a week makes, from bitter, near gale force winds last week, today saw almost T-shirt weather at the Gloucester track. The sky remained blue all day with warm, unbroken sunshine.

The club hosted a busy meet with a number of trialing dogs including puppies, new-comers and club regulars.

Many congratulations to Deb and Larry’s Hugo on clearing for racing. This show-bred hasn’t put a paw wrong since his recent introduction to the track. Bred by Joan and Helen Weyman, Ch Nevedith Utterly Uppacrust of Dunaruna x Pipijay Starlight of Scarletfair, this youngster has displayed enthusiasm and confidence from day one. He will be racing as Hugo Agogo.

Racing was over 150 yards and in three weight groups due to the high turnout.

Fab pic of Smidge above - cant get over how amazing he looks!

Well done to all winners and to Hugo for his clearing trials, Tyler enjoyed the extra run

Ooh and also to Pearl and Dennis' little pups first trial (soz cant remember his name :b ), he went really well

See you all next week

A special thank you to all of you who helped out with traps, line judging, picking up for others etc.ect. I know it sounds cheesy but it does make the day run well, and I don't get a chance to say it at the time.

My boys are sparked out now after suffering the indignity of a bubble bath on their return. Jools has been restored to a fawn instead of a brindle!

Thanks Darc, we are really pleased with him. I don't think you will have any problems with Chyppe either - hopefully they won't be in the same group - Chyppe can have extra food to make him even bigger, and we're not feeding Smidge 'cos he's big enough already

It was a beautiful day, and a pleasure to be with such lovely people. The get together after in the pub was fun too - more time to talk when you're not racing the dogs. Looking forward to next week and wishing the days away already (w00t)

Thanks for the super write up Jo, and so pleased you weren't too worn out after last night (w00t) and thanks Lesley for organising the day so well

Hi Diane

He's 21lbs this week, and although we originally thought he would be bigger than Sweep, we were hoping he wouldn't be. His paws and bones are bigger than Sweep's, so I suppose he still has a bit of growing to do yet. His weight stayed the same for 4 weeks, so we thought his growth was slowing, but then he started putting it on again :( Oh well, what will be will be - we will love him whatever. He's very keen, so we're quite excited, and very proud of him :huggles:

That's a fantastic picture Lloyd has taken, it shows his determination already.

It will be great to see you Julie, and your brood of course. We will be running every week until the end of March at least (apart from Whippet Rescue open week)

Edited to say - everyone is welcome, PM our "Super Secretary" Lesley (LJH on K9)
