Today some of us went down for a longed for run! All the dogs were well keen, the winter break obviously worked wonders, all the pups went well as did the more experienced racers (one of which i believe had started wimpering in the car as it turned off the East Lanc's road - 5 mins away!!). Nice to see Alan with Leg's & Lips having a good blow out after just getting the all clear, Cassie's times were spot on proving she is well on the mend (My tip for another title this year).

The track surprisingly looked pretty good considering the recent weather, luckily today we had the sun shining down on us.

For some reason tonight my clock wasn't playing hence a few heats were without times.

It was nice to see Keith Earnshaw back tonight - his doctor's note was to get some holts bitter down him as he had been having withdrawel - maybe next week ey Keith?, his dog had obviously missed Gin Pit track as he timed in then went faster with every run!

I & everyone at the club wish him good luck for the Northern open this weekend!

PARTI COLOURED OVERLOAD!!!!! All we needed was John Greenwood's parti's & we'd have cracked it, i've still got spots in front of my eyes now. Dino ran well, fresh from his runs at Northern, he's now getting back to some sort of form after his layoff (all Keith fault) & i believe he did his best time tonight too. Someone get this dog a girly for dog sake, me & michelle didn't know where to look :b when he kept humping keith's leg.

Scratch Final

Red Ranger - 8.60

This Way

Consolation

Maralyn Sc - 9.09

Foys Boy 2 1/2

Tearnie 3

All the above dogs are booked in at the local animal sanctuary tomorrow, Alan's Leg & Lips came & showed us all up with her cracking time & personal best of 8.65!!

Another sponsor of a weight class for the open from Rob & his dad, these two have got themselves 4 pups between them & are willing to help out with anything at the club, the pups are coming on really well, lets hope they fetch some mates into the sport - these are the sort of people we're lacking.

I think this year is also a record with the number of memberships we've had - keep them coming!!!!

Not a brilliant turn out probably due to the weather but everyone had 2 runs & all was happy at Gin Pit :D

Rob trialled his pups who are coming on great & i believe aren't long off their first puppy outing, one of them is still going a little bit too fast for her legs but they are all so mad keen for the lure it's not surprising, the two brindle one's being half sisters to legs & lips & the absolute spitting image could be something special & the little red one ran like an old timer.

Heat 1

Scout Sc

Rolling Thunder 8

Rolling Thunder held onto most of his start to win comfortably.

Heat 2

Foys Boy Sc

Bettys Blue 2

Poker 3 1/2

Foys Boy overtook the others by half way up & ran on well to win.

Final

Foys Boy made up a slight margin on Rolling Thunder but not enough to threaten him, Dino hung on to win.

Consolation

Scout Sc

Bettys Blue 5 1/2

Another win for beths dog Bettys Blue.

Scratch

Heat 1

Red Ranger

Moonpie

This was a close race for the first 50 yd as Red Ranger trapped really well leaving Moonpie, her finish soon kicked in though & she widened the gap.

Heat 2

Leo

Taylor Maid

This Way

This Way got his trap & won this one by a nose on the line.

Scratch Final

Moonpie

This Way

Moonpie won from This Way who too left Moonpie at the traps.

Scratch Consolation

Red Ranger

Taylor Maid

Consolation winner Taylor Maid in a really good close race ran ever so slightly on the right hand side by the pair of them :D

11 June 2003

Well last night was another good turn out with 4 heats in the main handicap & a couple of heats made up by the pedi's & the usual scratch race which is quite popular. 4 new pups timed in ready for the handicap so the next few weeks should be good as they find time!

Another Pedi in the club has just had a litter of 8 pups, Mick has just got his-self another pup (Cracked It x Fleetwood Fox ), Newcomers to the sport George Meakin has got himself a (Casino x Dazzlyn Anne) pup on order & Beth Handley has got herself a (Wynn's Wonder x Darrens Domino) Pup. The club wishes all the above owners the best of luck!!

Everyone had enough runs, including the lurcher & the 3 spaniels were very tempted.

Heat Winners,

Casper (Cracked It x Coursing Bitch)

True Faith (Soapy Joe x Blue Monday)

Foys Boy (Micks Mystery x Maralyn)

Poker (Cool Breeze x Maralyn)

Consolation Winners,

Stormcloud (Stewart x Hobgoblin)

Bettys Blue (Cool Breeze x Maralyn)

Final Winner,

A first final win for Poker who is getting a bit more bottle just recently, in a very close race with True Faith only a nose behind on the line.

Scratch Winner,

Pointless (Cool Breeze x Maralyn) from Keith's This Way.

18th June 2003

Quite a few dogs missing from the main handicap due to injury and one thing & another but we still managed 3 heats & the usual scratch race.

Donalds lurcher was back in training ready for the lurcher racing at the show, i'm told she's ready to defend her title!!!

Ht 1

A good win for Marks improving youngster Sail Away (Wor John x Time to Fly) this his first time in the handicap.

Ht 2

Rob's 17lb pup Casper hung on to a decent amount of her start to win from Keith's Rolling Thunder.

Ht 3

Beth's Betty's Blue won this one from litter brother Poker (Cool Breeze x Maralyn).

Scratch,

A cracking race between Pointless & Hobgoblin (yeh she's back!!!!) which resulted in Hobgoblin getting up on the line.

Final,

Sail Away Sc

Betty's Blue 1 1/2

Casper 8

Betty's Blue came from no-where & looked like a different dog passing Casper with ease leaving the other younger two to follow him to the line.

Nice to see Stephen Thacker & Rebecca Hough down at the track with their tribe of ped's hopefully next time they will get to stay a bit longer.

Donald's Lurcher was back again looking that bit fitter & ready for her big day at the lurcher show.

Four heats for the 25yd Dash, this was a good turn out considering a lot of the regular racers didn't run!!!

Ht Winners,

Rolling Thunder (Ped)

Sail Away (Wor John x Time to Fly)

True Faith (Soapy Joe x Blue Monday)

Daisy (Ped)

Final,

This looked to be a close race on paper, True Faith a previous winner & Rolling Thunder who's always been a finalist, but it was Rolling Thunder who never looked challenged once he came out of the traps like he did to take home the Cool Breeze Trophy.

Consolation Winners,

Ht 1, Dove (ped)

Ht 2, Poker

Ht 3, Spooky

Consolation Final Winner, Tony's veteran Spooky (Madison x Blue Monday)

Scratch

Hobgoblin

Pointless - Winner
