I have a question about coat colour.

I myself am not fussed on what colour lab i have as long as i have a lab but a few friends have suggested i get a yellow as a black or chocolate labs fur will show up more on my clothes and furniture.

I want to be clear i dont care about the shedding i know they shed a lot which means lots of hoovering up and i know ill have fur all over my furniture and clothes but my friends are saying my light grey sofa will turn black with a black lab there saying it will be more noticeable than a yellow as a yellows fur will match my furniture and clothes more.

I also don't have carpets my house is wooden floors.

I tend to wear light clothes and my house is whites and light greys.

Are they right as i dont want to restrict myself to just one colour lab

IMO you should get the dog you want. You can put throws over the furniture and play with colours that way. We have floorboards and they are brilliant. Homes with pets in are always hairier than those without.

FWIW my mother once had a black and white dog, and it was fascinating how I'd get black hair all over my pale clothes and white hair on my dark ones.

I agree Hemlock , i really wont care if my clothes show black fur I'd feel hes with me

Recognized Lab colours are "black, yellow or liver/chocolate. Yellows range from light cream to red fox. "
Only recently I've become familiar with 'Red' Labs and I was surprised to find out they seen as type of 'yellow'...they are beauuutiful, that's if one does like gingers ;) But yeah....go for what ever pleases you, never mind what others say.

Thanks all , i dont know why i listern to them for but your right its my house and my dog and I'll be happy with any colour , making sure i go to a good breeder and picking the Right lab puppy for me is far more important to me
