Hi peeps! Can anyone advice me on what size coat for my dog, he's at moment 24" long from base of neck to base of tail and 5 months old. But i would like it to last a while, I was thinking of a 26" one but never had to buy one before so thinking he may grow into it over time!! :unsure: He's at mo standing 21 1/2" at shoulder he is greyhound/collie.!

At 5 months he's still got quite a bit of growing to do and even when he reaches full height, he won't broaden to adult size until he is around 15-18 months old

Any coat you buy now will probably be too small once he is fully grown, but if you want to make sure his backside is warm and give him room to grow into it a bit, then I think a 26" would probably be the minimum length you need at the moment :thumbsup:

sounds daft but how to i measure my dogs for jackets,do i measure their lenght and chest size thanks

usually measured from base of neck where the collar sits to the base of the tail, if it's a hound it will need to be couple inches longer to cover bum a bit, if buying online then the website will usually have a 'how to measure' page or just email and ask to get best fit, if in doubt buy size bigger

thank you,when my lads had grown i thought great christmas would be cheaper :teehee: but no then come along the grand kids :teehee: and now its the pets. :teehee: dont get me wrong the dogs and other pets got :teehee: little things like treats and a special bone or squeeky toy, now its new fancy collars leads to match,new coats,fleeces,new beds etc.Ah but now the boys are all grown up and now their my babies. :teehee: And as usual what do we parents get a big soggy lick.Off the kids a big kiss.Would we change it ?Whats on your pets christmas list ?
