At my local Pets at Home there is never any food in with the rabbits. They say they can't feed them during the day incase any are bought and they mustn't be fed for the first day after they go to their new homes (w00t) . I know they say this as my mum asked if they fed the rabbits!!

Quite right Clare :thumbsup:Claire said:I thought rabbits needed to have access to food all the time !
My thoughts exactly! Everytime my dad has got a new rabbit they have had access to food and water as soonas they get home. No they are not from Pets at Home but one of the top breeders of the breed in the UK. He is down to one bunny now and is not planning on getting anymore at the moment, sticking to the Scandaroons.JAX said:Beerhound said:Off the topic for a minute.buffyrannoch said::lol: aw bless, take him to pets at home and point them out !!!!

It is Dunstable, they say that the rabbits are fed before the store opens and after it closes and they have hay to eat if they are hungry in the meantime. They do have water available, although often the birds water is not put back right and the poor things can't get to it. Both myself and my mum have seen and reported this to staff who corrected the problem. I DO NOT agree with the not feeding bunnies for 24 hours after purchase though  .Millie said:What store is this ?Beerhound said:My thoughts exactly! Because they are going against PAH rules
All animals are fed and cleaned daily. (My job on Tuesday mornings, here in Reading)
I shall be reporting this store to head office !
