yeah,. my pup is well little and i can't find a whippet collar to fit her, so i thought a italian grey collar would do the trick. my local pet shop is shite and i thought someone on here could help me out. tony

There's often some on eBay, or most big petstores should be able to order one for you, or to be really posh get a saddler to make one to your design!

I'm just kidding Tony, how old is your pup, can't you use an ordinary collar for now, thats what I do till they get big enough necks for the wide collars.

hi lesley, she's 13 1/2 weeks but very small. i am using a normal collar just fancied a wide one. she does the typical puppy thing and wanders all over the place and it makes me feel bad when i pull her back in.tony

That's a good point Julie come on Tony pics please

I think you may have trouble getting a wide collar just yet, we had the same problem, callie is still small with a thin neck and we usually find they are a bit big cos you can't put extra holes in because of the wide part, I would advise if you do find one don't spend a fortune until she's grown up, we spent £30 quid on two collars which looked lovely for about a fortnight  they are that crackers when racing about they are all tatty now + teeth marks (w00t)

Jans Greyhound Gifts is a good site Sparky - I got a new collar for Oscar last week at £13,50 but they do do cheaper ones and they come very quickly.

They have plain ones too and different sizes - they are all cottage industry made and hand dyed and brass fittings - very strong.

I got Gucci's collar from Togs For Dogs 01539 443343 they do lovely high quality leather ones and also seen advertised in the IG club newsletter Kevin 01296 641816 from £5-00 each

why not get a little harness then you wont hurt her when you pull her back if she wanders?theyre very cheap too and you should be able to get one at any pet shop

hi to everyone, a harness sounds good, but i think they encourage a dog to pull, but thanks kriss. she is so small i cant see a standard coller fitting her when she's full grown. heres a pic of her, ill post another when she gets her new collar. cheers tony

We had the same problem with tiny muffin, if you pm me your address I have one you can have :))

You could try the Blackdog whippet collar. Beau has one and he has been wearing since he was 10 weeks old. He's now five months old and it has just expanded to fit. Don't forget Beau's a whippet though not an IG

I know it's brilliant isn't it :D .......My pup's year's ago had to make do with a cat collar  .......Can't wait to be able to buy the pup's their forever/proper collar though

I make limited slip collars but I wasn't going to waste time making them for the pups. All I did was to get a normal skinny puppy buckle collar, get another piece of wider leather & cut some slits in either end, then thread the skinny collar through to give it a wide surface area. I hope that makes sense. It doesn't look too flash but it was very effective.
