Glad youve got him back, four weeks in a cage  (w00t)   , hes not going to think much of that, bet he excercises his lungs plenty  o:)

Colt is exercising his lungs very well (w00t) , poor wee man locked up, but when he's tried Im going to let him sleep on my knee, for a cuddle :p Im sleeping with him down stairs for a week or so, as he's doing so well in the big cage

He's got loads of toy's, not ragging one's though (vets advice) just chewing/squeeking toys in his cage. Gizmo and Robbie seem very happy to have him home  The kids are over the moon (as Gary said he was dead :( ) and nothing would convince him he was at the vets :( :(

Im so glad he's home, but Colt seem's to think he's okay and was on the lead in the doggy garden having a pee and he pulled like hell on his back legs :( , so up in my arm's right away

Thanks to Cally Thistle Club for the loan of the huge cage  , Colt will be back at the club, beeting all the other pups up in the near future  (w00t)

Im off now to try and stop him taking the cotton wool out of the bandage and he's using his lungs again (w00t) Howling to get out  :huggles: :huggles:

Great to see Colt back home again Susan. My wife's Silver pup broke all four metacarpel's in peices,at 4n1/2 month's,and at a year won his 1st racing championship. He went unbeaten for a whole year, till a groin injury in the final at Chatsworth, ended his racing career.Hope the wee man make a 100% recovery. ...Billy...

Colt got the bandage off today. It's looking very good, no infection

He's home now and wearing a sock over the stitches as the head shade thing was not long enough for him not to lick the stitches

Ive to get a bigger one for him tomorrow (w00t)

He's putting a lot of weight on it now (scare's me to death ) , still 3 weeks in the cage and still on a lead for the toilet

Orrrr bless him ...dont let him do to much on that leg for another week or two sue

good luck

A tip for you Susan we used it with our Josie and it works

Get a long bath towel fold it lengh ways, pop it under Colts tummy so hes in a sling, hold both ends in one hand and take Colt weight off his legs. So he can stand to empty without putting his full weight down. He can walk alittle way into the house with the towel taking his weight and his lead on

:luck:

Colt get's the stiches out tomorrow

He's still walking on the bad leg, and even chased his tail in the big cage (w00t)

When he's daft as a hatter, he's put into the smaller cage :- " , just to let him calm down and let me calm down too :- " , his antics and personality have not let Colt down, he's still as mad as a hatter and a normal 5 month old pup (w00t)

Ive told him, his leg is still broken, but will Colt listen,,NO

He's a joy to own  , even though my heart is in the mouth still   (w00t)

Colt's doing very well  Mum and Dad are pulling their hair out

A little up-date for all who are asking about him, He's doing better than US

A video to follow :teehee:

glad he's doing so well, funny how they think there's nothing wrong with them

hope his time in'prison' goes quickly, he'll soon forget about it once he's back out :luck: :luck:

A Colt update :D

Thanks for all the call's about Colt and pm's.

Colt is now getting out for little walk's with John on the lead for around 10 mins, 3 times a day. I let him into the kitchen, when doing the dish's , for a short time, just to wander about off lead :D ,He's back in the huge cage during the day  and bounces about in that, barking at Robbie and Gizmo (w00t) . He's put on a lot of weight, but not too fat  and is bigger than Gizmo now :)) , he was Robbie's size and weight when he broke the leg (w00t) . The great new's it that both front legs are the same  , so the groth plate is okay  He has scaring on the top of his leg, due to the bandage and the other stitches scars are fading a wee bit :- " :- "

He's now a lot happier in the big cage, I think he see's it as his den  , no other's get into it  .

Im now giving him ragging toys as he was ragging the vet bed and was scared he would trip over it  .

Colt walking without a limp, he's cocking his leg a lot now (grown up) but I still take him into the doggy garden for the toilet on a lead as I know he would try to run and till he get's the last x-ray at the vet hospital, I will keep him on the lead in the little garden

Colt goes to the vet hospital on the 19th of this month :) ,,just hope it's good news
