Name the band.;)

Now I'm a union man
Amazed at what I am,
I say what I think, that the company stinks,
Yes I'm a union man.

I have just heard this on the radio. Memories mmm.

.

Was it Scaffold? Off to google....

.... well at least I got the first letter right.

Yes the first letter was right. I would never have got the name of the group though.

Not only do I remember the group but I can sing significant parts of the song.....

My favourite of theirs refers to lying down by still waters, though. I can really belt that out. Lucky you lot that you can't hear me!

Don't you just hate it when you're walking in a really quiet secluded area, belting out a song, and you walk round a corner and bump into someone?

Or is it just me that happens to?

Good grief! I’ve just come across this thread. You youngsters make me feel my age. I saw this lot at the Marquee in Wardour Street. They were more folky, acoustic at the time. Pre “Part of the Union”. Off for a rest now and a foaming pint of Horlicks.

And still no one has actually named the group/band correctly
Judy was very close with her first letter "S"

I was in my van one summers day, sat at traffic lights, totally lost in 'singing' along to a Hayseed Dixie track 'Will the circle be unbroken' and enjoying a right old bop too, when I happened to look alongside me and there was a post office van with 2 posties in grinning from ear to ear while they watched!!:D:D:D

I love to "Turn up the volume" while driving. (un reasonably "LOUD")
Bring on the Golden Oldies, they were some of the best:oops::rolleyes:

I thought the quiz was still open - that’s why I didn’t spill the haricots. Didn’t want to spoil it. Here’s one for you - Who played keyboards on the original “Hello Suzie”?

Oh sorry Flobo !
I missed your post, maybe that was because you cheated and got it right;)

I'm going to guess Rick Wakeman, just because I discovered yesterday that he also played with the band who played 'I'm a Union Man'.

I'm another that didn't name the Strawbs so not to spoil the quiz. And I can't answer the new question!

I have no Idea about the last question either o_O

.

It was Blue Weaver with Amen Corner. Eventually he replaced Rick Wakeman in the Strawbs. However he was an amazing member of Amen Corner and then Fairweather. If ever any of you (of a certain age who experienced the best music era) gets an opportunity to see Andy Fairweather Lowe take advantage of it. He’s a brilliant musician and a lovely man. Now that’s enough self indulgence and showing off, RGC. Get back to your sighthounds!

Eek, sorry everyone... didn't quite understand why no one was saying:D:D:D:D

You don't get me, I'm part of the union

Brilliant song, sang on several union marches & protests
