I wanted to share my comedy moment for today in the hope that I will then see the funny side of it!

Took the baby to the swings, happy to see no-one else was there when I realised that no-one else was there because everything was iced up! One unhappy baby....prised him back into his pushchair with the promise of a nice lunch when we got home.

Opened the fridge and his lunch (which I prepared earlier) fell out of the fridge onto my tiled floor and promptly smashed!

My 3 legged dog (leg amputated last Friday) moved faster than the speed of light (quickest he has moved since coming home), into the middle of the food and broken plate. He is now wobbling on 3 legs trying to eat the food...in the meantime the baby is screaming and I am trying my best to remove the dog from the situation - I mean he has one good front leg, i can't afford for him to cut his paw!). As I go to pick him up he turns quickly and falls over!!!!

There I am on my hands and knees keeping baby and dog at bay from a smashed plate of food on my floor and crying my eyes out!!!! Days don't get much worse than this do they?

Once everything was cleaned up I thought I'd go to the local carpet shop and try and buy a rug or something that I can put on my floor so that the dog and baby don't fall over and hurt themselves. The man in the shop got talking to me and after telling him about my week he gave me a rug and told me my bad luck was now over!

The kindness of strangers never ceases to amaze me....Thank you to the man in the shop (not that he's going to read this) and thank you to all the K9'ers who have helped me cope with Arnie's amputation and all the stress that has gone with it.

What a day you have had!!! It restores one's faith in human nature when someone does something so kind. What a thoughtful person. :)

Glad to hear Arnie is feeling so much better after his op, and obviously he has his appetite back!! :D

thanks for sharing that with us, i must admit i found it hilarious as you can just visualise this all happening, it just goes to show a dog will do absolutely anything for food, good on the carpet man,

oh yes, weve all had moments like this that are hilarious with hindsight, but at the time are just too much :huggles: for you.

if only more people were so kind  to whoever he is :))

I quite sympathise with you trying to hold Arnie back from the broken dish. Today I dropped a spice jar from the shelf and the top fell off and within a nano second I had six whippet snouts sniffing and licking up the powder which was over the kitchen floor. I finally managed to grab the kitchen roll and scoop most of it up with one hand, trying to hold them all back with the other. When I read the pot it was.... HOT CHILLI POWDER, do you think they will learn? Funnily enough none of them seemed to mind, knowing me it was probably use by 2001 and quite tasteless!!
