Companion dog show Sat 12 May at the equestrian centre at Fintona, Co Tyrone in conjunction with the Omagh district canine club’s all-breed KC open show. The companion dog show starts at 12.00. Both pedigreed and mixed-breed dogs are welcome and there is no need to pre-register.

I think there will be a similar event at the annual Florencecourt (National Trust) country fair on 27 May. For details, phone (028) 6634 8249

Thanks for the details Macha.

Might see if I can talk my Dad into taking us along to one or both....

The kids would enjoy it.

try to verify the info re Fintona -- there is definitely a KC all-breed show and the club secretary told me there would also be a companion dog show, but the only info I could find on the Omagh District Council website referred to 6 May so I am not certain the KC and pet dog shows are being run concurrently.

also - do you have any info on a Bark in the Park (St Columb's Park, Derry) this month in aid of Foyle Hospice?

There may be both a pet dog show and dog races at the Florencecourt (Co Fermanagh) fair, 27 May -- contact National Trust (NI) for further info.

[to Evie: have you tried giving Archie ginger (or anything else) to help with car-sickness?]

Macha,

Haven't heard anything about Bark in the Park at ST Clumbs, I will givve them a ring to get more info. I amy even be downt here walking the dogs this weekend if the weather is nice.

I've mentioned to Mum about going to Florence court on the 27th.... she said that she will "think about it". So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I was considering getting some Scullcap & Valerian Tablets for Archie to see if they might help him travelling. He is a very highly strung lad, so they might help him calm down in general.

the Foyle Hospice Bark in the Park is Sun afternoon (2 pm) 20 May at St Columb's Park, Waterside, Derry

anybody who is interested in going can get further details from the Foyle Hospice

Telephone 7135 9888 or 7135 1010 (dialing code in UK 028, from Republic of Ireland 048)

[those numbers are from a website, so if it's been changed try directory enquiries]

another Foyle Hospice fundraiser on Sat 28 July at Barrontop fun farm, Donemana, Co Tyrone (near Strabane and Derry)

family dog show and terrier/lurcher show and racing

show starts at 12.00, racing later

other activities such as the adventure playground, viewing of farm animals and the tea-room/gift shop will be available also; I expect these are on-going "Fun" farm facilities

a reminder about this forthcoming event

for information on the venue, see http://www.barrontop.co.uk/

I'd like to make it to this one; but just had a Guide dog booked in yesterday for that weekend. Remains to be seen if we'll make it there.

But if I don't make it to Barrantop I'm gonna head along to a new gym that's opening in Derry for some poledancing lessons!! (w00t) Should be fun, lol.
