still no computer, but thats another story...

just a general shout out about a male specific health problem thats put us in a panic (has this happened to any of you?)

one of the pups (we have our little purdey, and axel, the one with the white foreleg) we came down the other morning to find his penis swollen, out of its sheath, blistered, bloody, real mess, frankly. any how, tookhim straight to the vets. long story short, basically in human equivilent, too tight foreskin

it was too swollen to retract into sheath, sheath opening too narrow and therefore wasnt allowing blood flow, so swelling wouldnt go down etc etc etc. poor baby got put into a tub filled with ice packs, didnt work. ended up sedated, blood withdrawn from penis, penis reinserted, catheter inserted, sheath opening sewn shut.

was touch and go, amputation was a real possibility but hes been there for 2 nights now, looks promising, hopefully coming home today once weve raised the money (was £257 on day 1 of treatment )

other than that weve been doing great, and missing you all rotten :b

hes home and well, bless his cottons. check up on monday, see how its healing etc. he got given an injection to stop arousal thats supposed to last 3 weeks, but the vets pushing for castration asap. mind you, they tried it wiith dante when he had his 1st jab. i'm not against it, i just prefer a dog to be more mature, if you know what i mean. he slept with us last night to keep him away from the others in case they aggravate it, and i'd imagine that will continue for at least the rest of the week. if stephen doesnt like it, tough, lol! priorities!
