Does anyone use one of these couples (I think thats what you call them) when you can walk 2 dogs with one lead?

I've seen one on Jans gifts and I've also seen some on ebay. Is it best to buy leather, chain or webbing?

Are they very easy to work with, I have visions of the dogs getting tangled together!!! But at the moment they just manage to tangle me up

Hi

we have tried them before, i personally dont like them, but my OH said he thinks there ok, but he never uses it :- "

Hi Jezza, we have some coupleings made out of rope its much easier to handle the dogs on these as i can walk 4 at once but you only have 2 leads so lot less messing and tangleing.

We use them all the time we have a doubel coupeler for indy and lacey and the greyhounds are walked on a 3 way just he same idea but 3 dogs on one lead your dogs need to walk well on lead to use them though or you could get in a pickel

the pic is a 3 way a 2 way coupler and 2 on singel leads when we have them all coupled up we can walk 8 dogs on 3 leads but again they must be well behaved or you will end up in a real mess

Oh dear, perhaps I'd better not get one then as I would say that they are definately not well behaved  On their own they are fine and walk on a (fairly) loose lead. Get them together though and its a nightmare!! They both want to go in different directions ALL the time and they just zig zag in front of me tripping me over

I know its probably my fault but why are they ok when they're on their own??? I end up taking them out alone now but it takes ages. I take them together when we're going for a run. Lenny doesn't really know how to run on his own. I took him to a football pitch the other day for a run and he just stood in the middle chasing his tail (w00t)

Anyway, think I might buy a cheap webbing one to see if I can handle them before splashing out on a leather one :- "

You might find they walk better together on a double because they don't have as much length, so there isn't any room for zig-zagging. I use a single leather lead with a double attachment made of chain. It was £3.10 in the local pet shop so cheap enough not to worry if they didn't like it. The chain is nice because it gives it a bit of 'weight' so they don't pull as much.

Ive got one from Jans Gifs (a coupler) but find when one stops for a pee - this pulls the other one, (w00t) so usually use my two seperate leather leads.

Ok if you want a quick sprint I suppose and as Wendy says the dogs are very well behaved on them.

thats a beautiful picture!

we use them in a sense, but rather than short couplers, we use 2 full size leads attached to a single handle. It makes it much easier to control (only having one handle), but they still have full length so they're not tying each other up.

I DID use two leads from Accolade with rings on the handles attached to one of their regular handles, BUT now I have a friend in the US who makes them properly - so full length 'leg' which has a trigger at both ends - one for the collar and one that attaches to the handle. Both ends swivel so no tangling of leads. I often walk 3 dogs on one (in which case there is some tangling)
