I loved the TT, he had a real 'sparkle' which a lot of the other dogs were missing. Very showy, but obviously loving every minute of it.

I can't help wondering how long it is before we see a load of sad looking matted TT's in rescue, though. Sadly, breeds are often done no favours by a Crufts BIS win.

My mum said she wanted a TT after her old lab died, (I don't know where she got the idea from, we're all lurcher/working dog folk) She loves him to bits, he acts as a hearing dog for her and is great company. When he gets 'rug like' he get his whole coat taken off, no fancy styling or cutting, just bald. The dog is much happier bald, but the last person who visited my mum in her sheltered housing complex charged £30 just for the clipping, no bathing or nail trimming. Is this the going rate?

I hate seeing sad matted dogs, but I can understand why some people would dump a dog rather than pay to get it clipped.

You are spot on about crufts BIS doing breeds no favours.
