I'm just being curious but does anyone have a relation to my little girl Daisy?

Her sire is Barmoll Beekeeper to Whipowil her mum is Withybridge Miss Dior. She was born 2nd April 2005

All I know is that she is show bred even though she is too small to show and one of her siblings is showing and doing quite well

sorry have not got any that is related, but i believe the breeder is Debbie Miller?am i right??? the dog is show bred and nice too.

have you shown your bitch?who said she was too small?

any photos of her?

sometimes in a litter you do get some that is show quality and some that is not, which is why some breeders keep hold of a couple till later on and then run them on.

My little girl was bred by Mrs A Weir.

It's not a problem to me that shes small as I probably wouldn't have shown her anyway. We got her as a pet at the time, we didn't know there was a difference in show/race whippets we just thought a whippet was a whippet. Daisy seems about half the size of show dogs she weighs in at about 21/22lbs

I am just curious because when we go racing people seem to know the life history of many of the dogs and say hes related to so and so etc. and because we dont go to any shows I just wondered if there were any 'rellys' out there on K9 :D

Fred's sire is a Barmoll and his grandsire was Barmoll Bracken. Same affix, but not sure if they are related. Sorry.

Barmoll Bracken is Daisys Great gransire on her dams side. :D

There are lots of Barmolls, Walkabouts, Laurelcotes and Stormalongs on her pedigree

This is Daisy, I know nothing about toplines or whatever. But she is the sweetest little dog

oohh..I'm sure I can see a resemblance. Fred's Grand Dam (on the sire's side)was Sweet Gypsy Rose of Laurelcote. His Dam was Laurelcote Lavinia, so he's got some Laurelcote's in his breeding too.

Barbara.Beejay will tell you about rellies here. My Archie is half Barmoll (Jarah Blue Velvet) but I don't have the expertise or knowledge to link the pedigrees (though it is fascinating and I would love to get into it :) )

PM her and she will probably be able to give you a better idea.

Hi Nicola

Sweet Gypsy Rose is the great grand dam, so I think the sire of Daisys dam is Fleurberry Dogwood ? and the dam of her dam is Laurelcote Lavinia (grandparents?)

So does that mean they are related?

I'm getting way confused with the sire and dam thing I still think in terms of mum and dad :D

Hi Jo

I was only asking really if there were any k9 ers with dogs related to Daisy or had one of her siblings, Coz everyone seems to know little mozzas family tree and I feel sorry for the little mite

Thanks all for your replies

I'm a bit confused now but Fred's sire is Fleurberry Dogwood ( not a Barmoll affix as I first thought . I referred to the pedigree properly yesterday evening rather than trying to do it from memory at work  ) and his dam is Laurelcote Lavinia.

I think Fred must be an uncle to your Daisy perhaps? One of his litter sisters or one from a repeat mating (if there was one) went on to have pups. Have I got this right???

I must tell him when I get home. He'll be so chuffed :p

Fred is quite small boned and light too. He is 10.5 kg or roughly 23lb. He's an absolute angel, and is the sweetest natured chap. I dread losing him (although he's only 10) as I don't think I'll ever get another one like him.

i have two litter sisters that have the withybridge affix, barmoll bracken is their great gransire too :)

Hi Nicola

It does sound as if Fred is an Uncle to Daisy  she hovers around the 10kg mark usually just under but she is a girl and is quite delicate looking compared to our pup (no relation) :D She was a complete horror as a pup but she is sweetness personified now o:)

Daisy doesn't have the Withybridge affix herself, just her mum :(

I will have to tell her she may have an uncle on K9 maybe she wont fret as much while I'm gone

I have a fawn bitch whose sire is Fleurberry Dogwood. Her registered name is Amber Cream At Dejare, known as Ete at home. She was bred by Mr & Mrs Ratcliffe. She also is very light boned with a tiny head, very pretty head. She has the sweetest of natures and very obedient.

Nicola, I think that makes your Fred and my Ete, half brother and sister, and a distant relation to your Susie, Nicola.

Debbie

One of the mating's between Fleurberry Dogwood X Laurelcote Lavinia produced Withybridge Miss Dior's mum who is Fleurberry Chanel dob 2/7/97.

The mating of Fleurberry Dogwood x Laurelcote Lavinia was done 4 times. If Fred is Fleurberry Froggit then he is a litter brother. If he's F Elf or F Muffin then he's her brother but from the first mating. Which ever way it is he's her maternal uncle.

(if I haven't got that right put it down to the heat  )

Louise what is Daisy's KC name? Barn Dancer by any chance?

This is a 5 gen ancestor list for Barn Dancer a blue bitch from that mating and dob so either Daisy or her litter sister.

Hi Barbara

Daisy's Kc name is Steping Stones AF2 so must be a sister :D

Who is Barn Dancer in real life

Thanks for your time

Wow...thanks Beejay. You're a mine of information and a gem (thank you for going to that trouble). That's fascinating.

Fred's kennel name is Fleurberry Star (litter mates were named after planets) , so not the same litter you mention, but I think he still an uncle all the same. Fred's found a half sister too

I know her dad reasonably well (Beekeeper) - he lives down in Cornwall and I see him at lots of open shows. I think the sire's owners also have one from that litter, Country Waltz at Whipowil, she's a real sweetie and has been doing very well in the ring.

Your bitch is probably not too small, it's just there are a lot of big bitches being shown. I have the same problem with my youngest dog - even though he is correct size he looks small in the ring compared to some of the big 'uns!

If you fancy showing her, just have a go. It's good fun and if you win a rosette, it's a nice bonus!

Louise

She was looked over by a judge when she was a little younger who said she was too small, she has filled out since then but she still biddy

Although she has so many hobbies already I dont know if she has time for showing what with racing, obedience and agility o:) maybe we will try something small and local

Yeah! go on! Give it a go! She looks like a pretty bitch to me. Even if you just do some open shows or companion shows for a bit of fun.

I like 'em "small" aka "correct" :))
