I'm trying to source a custom made tailgate guard for the back of my car. I've got similarly priced quotes from both Barjo and Guardsman ... just wondering if anyone would recommend one company rather than the other, and if so why? Or any other company for that matter. At the moment I'm leaning towards Guardsman, if only because their lead time is shorter.

I ordered a Barjo for my subaru. It took 4 weeks from order to receipt, but the quality is fantastic and it fits like a glove

I am considering getting another Barjo made up to fit behind the front seats and separate the back of the car - just to stop Tizzy trying to drive for me (w00t) :lol:

I can't remember the name of the one I used to have, urggh, I think it was MJ or similar, he is in Lincolnshire. Was really pleased with it. I use hamster baskets full crate at the moment. Have had three of them as we are dreadful for changing cars!

Ive always had Barjo, a friend had a guardsman, but found it more noisey and fidley.

one of the main reason stopping us getting a 4th whippet is theres no room left in the crate in my car,

but if we got one of these, i could probabily fit a couple extra whippets in the boot (w00t)

Not too long ago saw a lady loading her rotties into the back of her car from the beach and I commented how robust and well made hers looked (BIIIIIG Rotties). It was a custom made Barjo and she was full of praise for it.

Barjo are brilliant, they made a cage front to close off the “Luton” part of my camper.

I had an appointment and they cut out the shape while the dogs stretched their legs.

Then they checked the fit and cut out clearances for lights etc before I left. The doors were cut out and it was coated and finished.

It was ready on time and fitted like a glove.

They also do different sizes of mesh; mine is about 1 inch square so the dogs cant bite at it and get stuck.

Wouldn’t go anywhere else. :thumbsup:

i am considering getting one myself , i have heard you have to screw them in to the bottom of your car , which is fine , but what happens when i want / need to get my spare tyer out , does it screw in to the wooden bit that covers my spare tyre ?
