hi all

today is little D's 10th birthday, she has had a nice day with a nice fat steak for tea. while ive been giving her a birthday cuddle i noticed a pea sized lump to the right of her spine. it seems to move when it is poked and has been there 2 days i think, i say it yesterday but thougth she just had some gunk in her fur from playing so i didnt take any notice of it.

any advice would be great, thanks em

It sounds like a subacious (sp) cyst to me,in which case it's nothing to worry about,but it might be worth getting it checked out.

Yes it sounds like sebaceous cyst. They are totally harmless and generelly do not bother the dog. I had one removed from one of my whippets, my vet did it under local anasthetic, she did not seem to even noticed. It is just like pimple, but not infected.

thanks guys i think i will make an appointment on friday, to be honest i did think it was a cyst but i just wanted to check what u folks thought too. ill let u know how she gets on.

GOOD NEWS!!!

it looks like a deep seated bruise to my vet! i had totally forgot about the demented cat from upstairs that keeps coming in my flat. they were fighting under my bed over the weekend so Dana must of bashed herself on the metal framework under the bed. (w00t) stupid cat im sure it wants to die!

its a big relief, but i kind of feel like posting the bill to my neighbour :angry:

at least she is ok, i just need to keep an eye on it. she had an anti inflamatory injection in the vets and it looks to of come down a little....poor baby
