At the end of last week I noticed a small swelling on Django's ribcage and thought that it was probably a haematoma incurred when he was hoolying with the others as it was obviously not attached and didn't get any bigger over the weekend.

However, on Monday morning it did look bigger but when I examined it, it seemed to be more fluid filled than hard so I still didn't think too much about it but thought I would just monitor it. By the afternoon, it was bigger again and even my friend who I walk with remarked that it was bigger than in the morning. So, when I got home, after they had had a very exciting walk chasing after a very lithe Roe Deer, I had a good look at it.

It was definitely fluid filled and I was just starting to think "Oh good, PUS!!!" and looking for a head on it when it suddenly went POP! but under the skin and it went down like a pricked balloon, just leaving the little knobbly swelling that he had in the first place!!!! How bizarre!

I can only assume it is, was, some sort of cyst and I have burst it. It is still OK this morning and hasn't re-filled. It is not painful and doesn't bother Django in the slightest even when I give it a good prod around!!!

Thankyou, I was just having my breakfast :x Hope it gets better soon! :luck:

No, don't get anyone who likes pus because that was the stange (and disappointing!! LOL) thing, it didn't erupt but just popped inside so I don't know what was in it!!!!!

Lida

I haven't got a clue Lida, I suspect it is a haematoma, as it was not there one day but there the next and he is always hoolying around like a madman but why it should become fluid filled and pop inside (nothing has erupted through his skin) like that I have no idea. He has been left with the little lump inside the skin but not attached to anything that came up in the first place!! I shall wait and see!!

What about a burser or is it spelt bursur? Haven't a clue. I had one on the back of my hand once and the doctor pressed hard on it and it burst under the skin. Old remedy was to hit them with the family bible ie a heavy book.

Anyway happy birthday Django.

Bursa (bursitis). Horrible things; had them behind my knees when I was 'thyrotoxic'. GP told me I had one on my foot too, till I broke it and the radiologist says - oh you've broken your foot before; there's a bone sticking right out the side! Hmmmmmn :- "

What a nice thing to happen on your birthday too !
