Hello,

My 5 mths old puppy is on dry food and has the occasional bono, i was told that would keep his teeth clean he also has rubber toys, material chew and cardboard

Does anybody uses special brush and paste or put plaqueOff in their food?

Many thanks

I use a doggy tooth brush and tooth paste from Pets at Home and also give them Denta stix every day. DO NOT USE HUMAN TOOTHPASTE.

Its ideal to get them used to having thier teeth cleaned from a young age.

Dental Chews are ideal but i also clean then as well, gives you a chance to see if anything is wrong orally.

me too, doggy toothpaste and brush, good to get them used to having there teeth done and for checking in their mouth

I don't use tooth paste. Chloe has a denta stick every day and a pigs ear once a week. She has also started on chicken wings. She is 2 1/2 and not a sign of plaque on her teeth, everyone comments on how good they are, including the vet! I will be doing the same with Frankie.

If you do use toothpaste, get a doggy one. You can't use human!! Dogs hate the taste of mint anyway.

I never use toothbrush/paste on my dogs but they have marrow bones, cow hooves, Bonios or Laughing Dog Milkwheat biscuits, pigs ears etc.

I recently bought some Plaque Off for Coco whose enamel on her teeth has always been soft so looks discoloured permanently although my Vet says her teeth/gums are actually in pretty good condition. I have also been giving it to Dante, who is nearly 13 but hates having things done to him (like nailcutting, teeth scaling) and he was entered for a show. He only had a bit of plaque on his canines by the gum and this came off very easily after having the Plaque Off for about 3 weeks so I can only conclude that it does work!!

I use a doggie toothbrush and some yummy (for them) chicken toothpaste, they love it (w00t)

I use a doggy toothbrush & Dorwests roast dinner toothpaste. They also get a pigs ear once a week. They all have excellent teeth including Amber aged 13.

Nah, i never brush their teeth, all mine have lots of bones etc and all have lovely white teeth :)

I also have this toothpaste but admit havnt really had to use it yet - my two get chicken wings every day or lamb bones and thier teeth look really white and clean - and people have made comments on their teeth and how white they look.

Also tripe sticks and pigs ears.

Hebe is 6 and hasn't got any plaque, I've never brushed her teeth but use Oral Logic hygiene gel. You just squirt it into their mouth, they love it. It coats the teeth in natural enzymes and breaks down plaque before it has a chance to stick to the teeth. Get it from vets or at Crufts.

i use plaqueoff....which is a powder added to food....which is great and also logic chewsticks which are rawhide chews with logic toothpaste in them...(sort of)

both from the vets and both great !

they also get tripe sticks

I use a tooth brush and biscuit flavour tooth paste. They didn't like shrimp flavour though, they all gave me their best "we aren't bloody cats"look so the shrimp toothpaste went in the bin :b .

two of my guys are ten years old this year and their teeth are fab, apart from Badger who has one canine missing after falling face first off the sea wall and splitting his tooth and having to have it removed bless his clumsiness. :*

I have been using 'Plaque off' for about 6 months & am delighted with the results!

The gang are also delighted as I no longer attack their teeth :D

I just occasionally give them a 'chew' which polishes any plaque that has survived!

As soon as my pup has all his adult teeth he will get his daily dose too!

I have been using plaque off, it has been great especially on the 11 year old terrier who hates having her teeth brushed. I also use marrow bones in the better weather ( so they can have them outside).
