Hello I have a cane corso who is my emotional support dog few nights ago I was walking my dog Skippy on a lead and a off lead dog attacked Skippy and bitten him on his back . The gentleman who owned this dog started to push me around all because couple days before I mentioned to him to pick his dog phoo he went ballistic. After this attack as I walked around the corner I bump into another gentleman walking his dog and my dog started to pull me .I tripped on a curb and landed flat on my face still hold own Skippy .the gentleman started to walk towards me to help me up I shouted don't because Skippy just been attack he might bite .the bloke didn't take any notice started to pull me up and Skippy bite him . I told the bloke to leave it I get up on my own again he didn't listen and pulled me up Skippy didn't bite him that time. I always put Skippy on a muzzle that particularly day I didn't as Skippy face was swollen due to have fever . The day before this incident I had ordered a new muzzle still waiting for delivery the new muzzle will fitted more comfortable with Skippy swollen face .
I'm petrified the police will take my Skippy before I got Skippy I have try to take my life many times last time it resulted in me having a cardiac arrest . Since I got Skippy I become a better person mentally.

Your thoughts what the police will do

Hi, I'm so sorry this has happened. Did the second man say that he would contact the police? How badly was he bitten?

I would avoid taking Skippy out until you have a muzzle that fits. Although it's understandable that he was very stressed, these things happen and it would be awful if, say, a child got bitten. And it demonstrates that you are a responsible owner.

Bear in mind that police have no right to seize your dog if not in a public place unless they have a warrant. There are more detailed laws around the circumstances in which they can seize your dog - it may well be worth you contacting a specialist dog legal expert so you know all your rights. I'm sorry you are going through this . I would assume you would have heard from the police by now if he had reported it. Hopefully , he didn't. Please let us know what happens .

There is a lawyer you can get advice from if he does.
