i agree with the kc stopping in- breeding, i have never liked the thought of breeding mother to son /father to daughter/brother to sister ect ect. and is not something i would personnally do. linebreeding on outher hand is a differnt thing. when i breed a litter i like to use a dog that has a connection in as much as maybe having the same grandfather ect or is from a simular good line but not as close as any of the above. maybe half sister/brother would be as close as i would like to go.i think when you close breed like this it is asking for trouble as far as heriditary defects ect, maybe not in the first litter but in future generations,(people breeding on from offspring)everybody will have their own ideas on this but that is my take on it.

a friend of mine who is an accreditted breeder got a news letter and the information was on there about breeding
Liza, I thought you were KAYMARK, aren't you an accredited breeder?

Apologies if I am wrong. I have read what the KC have said about the standards and close inbreeding but I am interested in what have they specifically said to the accredited breeders.

i have just been told you are not allowed to line breed anymore and you have got to breed to the fourth generation of you pedigree so is it worth having an affix
They did not say breed to the 4 the generation of your pedigree, I am sure what was said was that your can line breed to a dog that has a common ancestors in the 4th generation or further back.
