Can anyone suggest a dog crate that would fit into a Nissan Qashqai, and hold two medium sized dogs. Before I purchased my two pups I was only going for one dog but liked both - ahem. I bought the Ferplast Atlas 80, for one dog, but now I realise I need something bigger and I'm looking at the bigger one the 100, but will it fit into my car? I have measured it and it looks tight? There is another one that is an open cage style but I think that might be too big. Any help please would be appreciated. P.S. Its for the boot.

Hi Papa. I personally use a dog cage from Travall, so take a look if the size they offer matches your preference. I don't think it will be able to take 2 dogs inside though, but will probably suite one perfectly. Why do you need a dog cage anyway? It looks like a dog guard will be more suitable for your needs... You can take a look at dog guards at the same website as well, as they have a lot of car specific guards, so they will most likely have one for Nissan Qashqai as well.

Hope that helps :)

I've had mine made by Hamsterbasket http://www.hamsterbaskets.co.uk/. They are fanstastic, hve the measurements from most cars so can make to order. If they don't have yours on file then they show you how to measure. They make the most of the space you have. I've had mine for 8 years now and wouldn't be without it. Fantastic company, great prices when comparing to other 'made to fit' companies.

If you're after something to just buy and pop in have a look at www.doghealth.co.uk. They have a few different sizes and styles all at good prices.

Thanks folks, I will have a look at both ideas. The cage is for cleanliness as my wife suffers from a few illnesses and I have to be thinking of that at all times. I have actually bought a boot cover to fit and looked at some guards, but I keep going back to an enclosed cage.

:-I have a ferplast 100 which comfortably fits two beagles, it fits in the back of my Suzuki Alto with the back seas down (tiny tiny car!!) so I would think it should fit in the boot of a quashqai, maybe try find a pet shop who stock them and try it in the car before you buy, I took a friends to the car garage and made the salesmen fold down all the back seats in the showroom until I found the perfect fit for me!!!
