If AI members increase traffic to forums, then it will help push the forums and any ads on the forums up in google results, and they will become more attractive to advertisers. That's my (rather hazy) understanding, anyway.

If that's their intention it seems to be having the opposite effect.

How do we know who 'they' are??

You will know, believe me.

Their replies will say things like ”Hey - that's a really interesting question, and one I'm sure lots of people have been wondering about too! But fake replies are often quite easy to spot, and in no time at all, you will even find you can construct human replies yourself that look equally insincere! Every day is a school day, so hang on in there, you are doing great!”

Wait, there's ads here? Never seen one. I don't believe there will be AI forum members en masse. Maybe some of the less reputable forums will have these to make them look bigger and possibly build traffic, but beyond that I can't understand why they'd bother. With all the works and publications online to scrape, I just don't see it as worthy of their time. Elon Musk and Sam Altman have bigger fish to fry! Mind you, I said this about iPads when they first came out, now look at them!
