Dog Kit - Help/advice Wanted!

I’m hoping some of you would be willing to give your advice and thoughts!

A few months ago my wife and I went to see some friends and we took Bella, our two-year-old Cocker Spaniel, with us. On our way home, we took Bella on a long walk so she could have a good run round before our two hour journey home.
Now Bella is great on walks but she does have a habit of rolling in various smelly things…this walk was no different! When we got back to the car we had drinking water and a towel but nothing to get rid of the horrendous smell - we had a very smelly journey home!

On our smelly journey home, my wife and I decided to buy a dog travel kit that had useful essential items for situations such as these. However, after looking around, we couldn’t find anything suitable.

Therefore, we thought it might be a good idea to put something like this together ourselves and wondered whether other people would find it useful.

We have done some initial research and we have thought our ‘kit’ could contain the following:

Pet wipes and/or dry shampoo
Pet Towel
Brush
Pet Bowl (usable for water and food)
Spare dog lead
Poo Bags
Flashing Led Collar light
Rope Toy
All of this would be in a waterproof, easy to carry bag.

We would really value your thoughts on whether you think you’d use a kit like this, whether the kit include the right items and what sort of price you’d be willing to pay for it.

I wouldn't go out and specifically buy one - I would think most doggy people would have stuff like that in their car or throw it in a rucksack or plastic carrier bag if they were going out for the day?

Hmmm, I guess new to dog owners would buy them? £20 I think is a good cost for a pack?

I have seen cat starter kits around so a dog one does sound like a good idea

They don't seem to do any in the UK but they do do them in the US and they are called the Pet Parent Traveller. I hope it's ok to put a link in as this 'BOB' video shows it and how to fill it up for a journey

A BOB is an emergency kit kept in case of evacuation, a lot carry them in cars etc or just part of a travelling kit. I've looked for the PPT here but can't find it anywhere so have made my own up by using a craft bag.

PS: The lady in the above video has also done videos for documentation, and first aid kits for your dogs.

Sounds like an interesting idea - I am sure there is a market for it - even if it is a small one?

I's certainly suggest any kit include items for first aid

antispetic cream, dressings, bandages, scissors, tweezers (to remove thorns or splinters), tick remover tool

cyanoacylate glue (used to seal cuts in hospital and very useful if dog gets cut pad and you need to try to get it closed until you get him home),

tea tree oil (place near a wond on the coat to stop the dog licking or chewing on the way home in the car

Colloidal silver - my group use a spray but it's als available in a cream form - an excellent antiseptic effect and healing agent for cut or irritated skin, sore eyes etc

also, if your dog has to take medication, some spare pills, in case...
