Is it a problem to flush dog poo down the toilet? I am quite new to dog ownership and I am unsure as whether it is best to pick up the poo from the garden then deposit it in the human toilet or to put it in the bin?

I cant see a problem, we have an outside loo, (hasten to add we do have indoors ones as well), and we have always picked up and flushed it away.

A friend of mine said I oughtn't do it! Ok well if the consensus is that its fine I will continue to do it.

Husband has worked for water company and says it is not allowed. The sewage treatment works are not set up to cope with it. The odd poop would probably not matter but if everyone did it there might be problems. Our local authority says it is fine to bag it and put it in the general refuse though.

Thats interesting. Hmmm. What to do then. I hate the idea of the poo bags being in the bin all week! Perhaps I will email my local water board about this and see if it really is a problem in my area.

Is there not a bin close to you? My dog rarely poops in the garden and does it mainly on his walks as intended, I've heard it all now hahaha sorry for laughing but geez come on.
