Was talking to a friend yesterday and her 1yr old english bull terrier is being treated for suspected hepatitis, which the vet described as aggressive. Just wondered if anybody had experience of this, and what the treatment was and is it the same as in humans?

i am just reading some old whippet news 1968,and came across an artical on hepatitis. will type it out.

hepatitis is a disease of the liver caused by a virus, like distemper,it affects young dogs, most often the disease is not the same infectious hepatitis or epidemic jaundice which attacks humans.the virus is caught by contact with saliva and urine from infected animals. in fact the urine is of the infected animal is dangerous for some time after recovery.the disease last only a short time. the symptoms include listlessness with a high fever and thirst,a watery discharge from the eyes, and somrtimes vomiting, and diarrhoea, the throat becomes red and the glands swell.

hope this helps
