awww it's so sad to see :( , I'm with you Mike if I had the room and money I'd have the lot!!

one day when I win the lotto

I hope these gorgeous dogs find a warm fireplace and a loving family very soon :huggles:

it's heartbreaking how many lovely dogs are in rescue

anybody looking for a dog in Ireland? see http://www.irishanimals.com

they've had a pretty blue and white whippet cross bitch and a sloughi (or saluki cross?) dog advertised for several weeks now, some other lurchers and lots of retired or rejected racing greyhounds all looking for good homes

Alba - thank you for mentioning the "sloughi in Ireland" - he is in my care, and his name is Josef. Ah, but don't worry that he "ended up in rescue" - feral for at least 3 yrs, he is now a happy man who knows his name, is housebroken, and gets along with the other dogs here. Most of the dogs here sleep in the house with me at night, run free on about 2 and a half acres, get lots of love and socialzation, and are just happy in general. It took a long time to get through to Josef, but now he is ready for rehoming to the right person!

Yes, there are alot of fine greyhounds and other sighthounds here in Ireland - far too many than there are homes for.

to WOLFHOUND for all that work and devotion that you do and give on a daily basis.

FABTASTICAL! :D

Thanks, Kitty - I enjoy it in general, and the reward of Josef coming around has been wonderful.

Well done Wolfhound  what a great looking boy Josef is  and wasn't he lucky to find you :D

Well done to Mike for bringing these dogs to our attention - just sometines word is passed around and the right home comes up because of it.

A huge well done to Wolfhound, I know myself that rescue isn't all happy endings, theres a hell of a lot of hard work and heart break at times, it's the happy endings that keep you going. Keep up the good work - those poor dogs need you!

these are all at the Dog Trust, let hope they find good loving homes soon

I think it's important to say where they are as most people are going to foster or rescue dogs near them. How nice that Josef's foster-carer has joined the discussion!
