Just wondering what people think about dogs running in two classes. The reason I'm asking. Personally I think a dog can run till it's 6 or 7 if it's not pushed to much. I have seen pup's and yearling's this year ran in both them classes plus adult classes. I can remember when I ran Sasperella( not a bad bitch if I do say). She only ever ran once every 2 weeks on the bends. Today I watched a little bitch run the Yearlings( she ran a really great race. Not knocking the bitch, one to watch for the future). But then 2 solo run's later she ran the adults and was tailed off. Then she ran the yearling final were I think she would have won had she not had the extra run. Our dogs are not machines and I think it's about time club's and the BWRA and NNWRf realised this and said you can only run in one class. Only positive repalys please.

i think you only can run in one class with the fed shaz not sure

AGREE WITH YOU SHARON THEY SHOULD RUN IN ONE CLASS ONLY ON THE BENDS,I KNOW THE SMALLER NON PEDS WILL RUN FOREVER BUT MY OPPINION IS IT DONT DO EM MUCH GOOD AS YOUNGNS

i agree sharon,we all voted yearlings in so we didnt have to run our young dogs with the adults,so why put them in both classes?you cant be a yearling and an adult at the same open, surely not and as you say, they are not machines and it takes too much out of them.jmo

Each to there own opinion---

other people have absolutely no idea what the preperation this little bitch has had

Mick and Lynne are new to the sport i suggested they ran in two classes as i intended to also with Annie Hough--

Its a long way to drive for just one race and its near the end of season when soon all will get rested --both Annie and Little Flyer need as much racing as poss-Unfortunate that there was little rest between but thats how it goes..

if this little bitch had won the yearlings i wonder what would your comments might have been then? try everything thats my way of working and i aint done to bad with my way results speak for them selves Fluke at nearly seven years old still managed to take her class ---time will tell! of that i am sure 100 per cent-----

Dogs running in two classes...

I agree with you partly Sharon...Some dogs are regularly run in two classes ...The Little Flyer and Annie Hough are NOT..

As Steve says they're is only us that know the prep theses dogs have....had...

No they are not machines and ours certainly aren't treat as such....

Running twice on the bends......??? Not a great difference to what ours do regularly on the beach-here in Morecambe.

It would also only be the same as a re-run....wouldn't it?

I'll add also that both bitches ARE at the top age range of the Yearlings...who are used to running twice at Westhoughton

Anyhow hope this is positive enough---the facts

Each to their own opinion....ours running as long as they have been and at the level they have been says volumes to me.

I never mentioned any name's. Even if this bitch had won My opinion would have not changed. I also said that I was not knocking this bitch, this bitch is one to watch out for in the future. I asked for people's opinoin's this is mine that is your's. For me I wouldn't race any of my dogs in two classes on the bends. Yes fluke was and is still a great bitch but not all dog's are the same and I would hate to see anyone's dog's burnt out when they show so much potentiol.

I'm sure your not knocking this bitch (which incidently Steve bred) but you have opened a can of worms for others to criticise etc if they so wish...so we are merely stating the facts of today and the bitches background.

We ran our yearling twice too...and asked Mick if he was doing the same...No you didn't mention any names but its not difficult to work out who you are referring to.

No...not all dogs are the same....We have more than Fluke that has run hard and long...

with the same training techniques....Coral, Time (the mother of Little Flyer) Waterford etc.

I can assure anyone who might be worried that 'The Little Flyer' will not be 'burnt out'

she is approx 18 months old and is exceptionally well cared for.

Before the N.W.R.F ran Yearling races Moany Moany, aged just 14mths won her heat of the Black Power 2004 Golden Jacket, she then went on to win the weight class before finishing 3rd in the Supreme Bitch Final. Three races in one day and she was fine afterwards. Nobody can say I don't care for my bitches as much as everyone else does their own racers and I felt that the bitch had recovered enough between races to run again, I'm sure Mick and Family took as much care over their little bitch as I did of mine at the time (and she was younger then than Little Flyer and racing fully mature adults).

Sorry if I caused offence to anyone. I only used this race as an example. maby I shouldn't have. The point I was making and from what some other peole have said I'm not alone on this. The yearlings were brought in so that younger dog's coming out of the pup's didn't have to run against adult's. So why let dog's run in the adult's aswell. After all an adult dog carn't run in two classes. I have always thought this and always will.

Karen I'll see if I can get any shoes for you. Think some one give me some for the booty I'll sort them out. After all this is a better couse.
