Thank you for all your comments. They didn't see him from the beginning. He wasn't mine and I stuck to my granddaughters vet. They were a chain but were all really nice. They did his castration. They are five miles away whilst this one is literally round the corner. Handy to pop in for his wormer which I give monthly. Also Dudley is prone to gaining weight and I go in and weigh him fortnightly.

I guess the most important thing is whether you're happy with the treatment and care he offers - along with whether Dudley is OK with him, of course!

When you next need to make an appointment just ask to be booked in with one of the lady vets, that shouldn’t really be a problem as you will still be using the practice and it’s your money after all. I always ask for an appointment with my favourite vet at the practice I use x

just ask to be booked in with one of the lady vets

Maybe it's the way my mind works, but that made me giggle because, as when making appointments with doctors for yourself, asking for a 'lady vet' suggests that your dog is particular about who gets to look at her ladybits :D

If I was you, I would ask to see the other vets instead or drive a bit further to another one. After all, you’re the customer who’s paying.
I had the same thing going back about 25 years ago. There were just two vets at the practice who were both always there. Nobody liked one of them because of his manner and i was so embarrassed for him when he used to come out of his room to see who was next, but all the cards lined up on the counter were for the other vet. He used to retreat back to his room with no patient while the whole waiting room cringed. He left eventually, much to everyone’s relief ;)
I don't like my vet. Luckily Dudley hasn't had many visits. Boosters and I call in for wormer and flea treatment.
He is the senior vet, everyone else at the practice is very nice. Including the two lovely lady vets.

This man was my vet when we had our horses ,luckily he didn't visit them very often because he is scared of large animals.

The reason we use this practice is because it is in the village and I thought it would be good to have the closest vet..
