Drama is maturing VERY slowly she has just slightly pulled a muscle in her shoulder, so any work we were doing to help build her up was going to get wasted as we rested her shoulder. Then we had the bright idea (well WE though it was bright) to do some hydrotherapy with her and kill two birds with one stone - gently work the injured muscle AND help build her up.
Well I can tell you that SHE is not remotely convinced that this idea was really 'bright', but being the good girl that she is she humours us even though she hates it. She's been going for just over 2 weeks now at 2 sessions a week. The first few sessions were mainly splashing. She decided that swimming vertically in the water was a good idea, so we had the bright idea to float her back end by using a neck ring round her tummy. That made a HUGE difference and she's working her back legs perfectly, though she was still holding her head up WAY too high and splashing the front - not much use in strenghening her shoulder (sigh).
We've included photos of her session on Saturday. About half way through the session we decided she didn't need the ring round her neck any more as it was probably adding to the reason she was pulling her head up, so we ditched it, and aren't using it any more. You can see she's not impressed.
I was really really proud of her on Monday though, as she finally was starting to 'get it' and was holding her head down lower and the splashing was soo much less. She even put herself back into the pool after some of her rest periods which just blew me away.
So here are some pics of her Saturday session. To see all the photos you can go here http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j205/che...ming/?start=all
