Can anyone help?

I'd like some info on Dumpton Park Race Track

I think it was at Ramsgate Kent

I'd like to know when it closed

What sort of Hare it had

Were the starting traps fixed so that the runners had to run around then on a second circut (I have a copy of a photo taken about 1928)

I've found out from someone living at Margate that the track closed about 10plus years ago. They used to go to street market in the carpark - its now housing and a B&Q store. But they never went to see the dogs run so my request to find out what type of hare they used still stands.

Can anyone help?

Hi

I have been to the track several times when it was open from 1978 until

it closed,

the traps where removed by hand as soon as the dogs had left them,

the hare was an outside hare,

hope this helps you'

can also rember the trainers had kennels just across the road by dumpton train station.
