There was a very big turnout of Lurchers, Terriers, Whippets, Greyhounds and Strong Dogs at this brilliant and well organised show yesterday. The weather was kind too, with the exception of a few showers, and the racing track and show rings were in mint condition. The judges done a great job on the day and were meticulous in their judgement. It was evident a lot of hard work and muscle had gone into making this show a most enjoyable family day out for all by Tom Barry, his lovely wife Leanne and their hard working organising committee. A big well done to you all. The children were not left out either. A special class was put on for these wee tots and buoy did they enjoy walking around that ring with their favourite pets and parents, and each child received a big bag of goodies at the end of the class. This was a real winner for the children.Everyone a winner.

There were many happy faces going home from the show yesterday after the Northern Ireland Champion of Champions was judged. Congratulations to Joe Leonard on winning the Whippet Northern Ireland Champion of Champions with his winning Whippet. Joe your Whippet is a real cracker and a very worthy winner. You are going to have to make room for that big trophy in the good room. Well done Joe. And my other half Big John, was smiling from ear to ear when he got Reserve Northern Ireland Champion of Champions with our Whippet "Silver". He went home a very happy man. The Terrier Champion Trophy was taken home by a well known terrier man, Dessie Macken. Dessie you have a real winner there, and a well deserved win. I also saw Peter Morgan getting presented with a lovely trophy for his top Terrier. Well done Peter. A big congratulations to the Champion Lurcher Trophy winner Kieran Mc Manus, your Lurcher was tops. Well done Kieran and may you go on to win many more in the future. Kirsty Harpur won Reserve Champion Lurcher. Kirsty this was a well deserved win,and us women are all very proud of you.The strong dogs pulling class was won by Davy Boyds Dog, and Gareth Mc Culloughs dog Reserve. Two mighty dogs there, and two very proud owners. A big congratulations to all the rest of the very worthy class winners to numerous to mention. The racing went like clock work on the famous Feaghbridge dog track. The competition was class there, all top winners. Bluebell was there with her camera and took some great photographs of the day. There are some up on Hunting Life at the moment, and I am sure they will arrive on this forum very soon. Bluebell , you put some hard work into those photographs. Many thanks for all the enjoyment and excitement we get from looking back on the days happenings.

There was a very touching moment at the show , when the late Tony Lees son came all the way from Dublin to present the Tony Lee shield which he has put up at the DWTC show in memory of his late father. Sadly Tony past away earley in the year. Tony always attended and judged at the Annaghmore/Coalisland Shows for many years, and I had the pleasure of many a chat with this great man.. Tony was a keen sportsman and will be sadly missed at all our shows. R.I.P Tony in that great land beyond the sky.

Finally, I would like to thank most sincerely the DWTC/Guilford Men for the beautiful Placques they presented to myself and Bluebell for our help with photography, write ups and show list on the forums and at the shows over the year. I just cannot get over their kindness , thoughtfulness and above all their appreciation of our input. I can assure you from the bottom of my heart I will always do my best at all times for all the shows on this Island of Ireland. Again, many many thanks, it has taken pride of place on my mantle piece. A very memorable day was had by all.

Don't know how the stick the heat lol. These men are in there glory in the heart of the winter watching the dogs in action , night and day .. well done too you all

Well said Margaret. Quite a few deserving winner's on Sundy. N 1 thayt I can hold my head up and say, made me a very proud father once again. Because this time last year. She won both the unders, and the overs racing. Then later win reserve Northern Ireland Champion of Champion in the show ring at another venue. But this time she did it all again. Only all on the same day. After the hours and hours she has spent gettinh Tico, Blade and Shadow. Plus her and Alannahs other dogs ready for this. She was one young. Lady who deserved wat she achieved bnIG TIME. Well done Kirsty. I'm realy proud of u girl. I'd like to mention my God son here too. As this was his 1st encounter of wat a lurcher n terrier show is all about. He came with no knowledge at all. Of how, where r wat. But went home one of the happiest lads I've seen in years. In fact the wjole family we're there, to win with their greyyhound bitch Kate. She won both racing and showing. Dale is also my nephew, as well as my God son. So it was in all. A realy happy family success. I hav some brilliant photo's of both racing, showing and candid stuff from around the show.$ soon as I've all my editing done. I will b giving a copy of every single photograph to Tom. Just like I hav done for every other Lurcher show organiser's this year. Plus all the whippet shows at Dunsilly. I do this. As I dnt hav the internet set up yet. Wen I do get things sorted, and hav access to hunting life, and K9. I will keep u all amused over the winter months. As I intend putting one show a week on here. That's gona b a hell of a lot of photo's folks. As I've hundreds per show hahaha. I can see no point taking hundreds of photo's. If I'm not prepared to do the work of editing them all that need editing. N sharing them with anyone who wishes to look at them. Otherwise, I'd b better just leaving the camera at home.
