Greetings to all lure coursers  I have been asked to pass on this message to all EAWCC members.
It concerns members who are absent when the card for a meeting is made up.
If a member has not arrived at the time that a meeting is to start then that member foregoes their run and reverts to the purse stake. A reserve ,if present ,will be promoted to the stake to run in the absence of the originally nominated runner. If no reserve is present then the opponent of the absent dog will get a bye.
THIS NEXT BIT IS IMPORTANT.
If however a member is on the road but is going to be late, AND this fact is made known to the Hon. Sec., to her mobile phone , with an expected time of arrival, then every effort will be made to hold their place on the card pending arrival ( IF NO CALL IS RECEIVED THEN IT WILL BE ASSUMED THAT THE MEMBER IS NOT TURNING UP)
The length of time that can be allowed will depend upon the position on the card of the absentee. If one of the fourth pair in slips ,for example , then more time will be allowed than if the absentee was to be one of the FIRST pair in slips.
Hopefully the above has made the position clear.
