We were lucky with the weather, when Kevin & Maureen called from Kent they advised that it was snowing heavey there but Louise advised in Norfolk it was sunny.

We were having rain & so was Newmarket, so our first meeting of the year took place.The racing was over 150 yds at racing managers handicap, which resulted in some very close results

We had lots of trials with approx 6 puppies having a few yards behind the lure, it was great to see them and all chaced .

The presintation of the Essex Shields for the Top Dog & Bitch were presented at the end of racing going to:-

Top Dog WCRCH MR STARBURST owner Sarah Toller

Top Bitch WCRCh POSH PAWS owner Rebecca Toller who breed both of these dogs

The Club awarded a trophy to the most improved dog for 2009 to Ron Copsey's ROCKET BABE VON SILVER , breeeding Guys Gwithian and Gemville Celeste, photo to follow.

Over the last year she came to the club very withdrawn & not interested in racing, and now is keen and holding her own in the race Well Done

AGM over & done with for another year, so membership fee's are due, £15:00 and £10:00 per Annum for OAP .

Next meeting is 28th February, look forward to seeing you all

Thanks for putting on a good day's racing! And a special THANK YOU from Silver for her trophy which was a very lovely surprize. Many thanks to everyone who has helped get Silver the the great place she is now - going from strength to strength at every meeting - and I hope she now does well this year. But special thanks to you and your family Carol who work hard to run a good club and you certainly made us feel welcome and were (and are) very helpful. Thanks, yeah, really made up! Means a lot to me as she is my first Whippie and it hasn't been plain sailing with her but she's going great at the moment and I'm hoping that we'll see what she's really made of this year! Thanks M. I have always had faith in Silver and all my dogs. They are all so different and all need different things. This has been a very interesting path to walk!!! Love Ronxxxx.
