Hi,
My name is harvi and I have a beautiful dog, Daisy, a cross breed boxer cross with lab. Daisy was a stray from Ireland and she found her way to dogs trust. We adopted her in May 2013. She is aged about three now. Since we got her she has had a skin problem whereby she is constantly scratching, biting herself. We have tried steroids and this hS worked but is not a long term solution. So the vet tried piritone tablets in addition as well as essential fatty acid. Unfortunately with the decrease in steroids, Daisy's itching is back. Following blood tests, daisy has been diagnosed with an allergy to house dust mites. We are quite clean at home but not a sterile environment! Oh we did change her dier to James Wellbeloved lamb and rice. Today we started on atopica tablets 100mg. Having googled this medication I am somewhat alarmed at the list of side effects. Feeling very worried about my precious dog having lost my last two dogs recently.
Does anyone have any experience of this medication on their dogs? Would really be grateful for input on this.
