Hi, just lately wen buster has been getting excited like when hes goin for a walk he does like a spraying wee. It doesn't really smell but it is yellow and quite horrible. I was just wondering if any one knows why he would be doing this and what i can do to stop him? Also when a dog is neutered how long does it take for their hormones to balance out properly?

Thanks in advance

I had a staffie x who used to do this. There was no way of stopping her that I found but she eventually grew out of it. I do remember her being on the table at the vets and she had weed because she was nervous but loved the people so much that she was wagging her tail 19 to the dozen! You haven't lived till you've been sprayed by staffie wee! (w00t)

As for the other, depends on the dog, really. :)

OUR WHIPPET USED TO DO IT WHEN HE WAS EXCITED TO SEE SOMEONE! not always a great way for him to greet some of our well dressed guests 8)

Alfie our Chihuahua does this! and it does smell :x

Apparently his is a case of submissive behaviour when I greet him.Last week he greeted me and lay on his back for his tummy to be tickled and just missed my mouth   .I now ignore him a little before I greet him.Just till he calms down. Then after 5 mins or so I sit down calmly and call him over and give him a treat. It really works :huggles:

Oh so its nothing to worry bout then? thank god i was starting to think he was maybe incontinent or summat :- " !!

When I was younger one of our longhaired Daschunds called Tammy used to wee all over the place with excitement :- " It was especially bad if we had been out a while and came home the vet told us to completely ignore him when we came in and it did work sometimes . Tammy was such a character he used to show his teeth sort of smile when he was doing it
