well I’ve started toilet training straight away he has done two poo outside and several wees but sometimes he still goes in the house im taking him out every hour ... but I’m feeling really anxious that I’m not doing it right and he will never get the hang of it I’ve only had him two days am I just over thinking things ??

I know just feel like I’m doing shit but I don’t know if it’s just my anxiety , I’ve done puppy training before so I don’t understand why I feel like this ?

two days is crazy early to start worrying about failure. Take some deep breaths. He's a baby/new to the household. give him (and YOU) an excuse to mess up every so often.

He'll get there. Honestly! Take him out every half hour if you need to. Harri always needed to go during exciting play sessions ( took him out every 15 minutes then!), as soon as he woke from a nap (urgent!) and about half an hour after a meal.

It's only been 2 days - you'll soon catch on to your own dog's cycle and he will learn but expect plenty of accidents. Are you using an enzyme spray to clear up any puddles in the house? It really does help.

Yes, you're overthinking things! He's a baby, he's somewhere new, and it's all very exciting. At 10 weeks old not only has he not had a chance where you want him to toilet, he won't have the bladder/bowel control to hang on. The time between getting the urge to go and needing to go is practically nil.

Think of potty-training toddlers - my firstborn was hopeless and got through several pairs of trousers a day till he was about 3, my second child announced when he was just over 2 that he wanted to wear pants, not nappies, and had hardly any accidents. They're all different, but it takes time, and they (almost) all get there in the end. Relax, and enjoy your pup!

Give him time,he's only a baby. He will get there,then it's learning what his signal is to say he needs to go out.

Any poos and wees outside after just two days is brilliant! Just relax and praise him lots when he does it outside but don’t get uptight if he has an accident, he’ll get there do you have newspaper near the door where he goes out? When mine were babies I had it everywhere and gradually reduced it to a small area near the door , cheap to use and easy to clear up

Well he was doing really well last night and now today he’s done lots of wees inside I’m just feeling like poo

I think it’s due to the weather it’s wet and cold and windy

I also think I’m more worried about him peeing my house rather enjoying him being here . Just wish I could relax about it it just feels scary sometimes

Peeing in the house isn't the end of the world, and it's what most puppies do! Don't forget, dog owners used to manage without any information whatsoever - don't let the vast amount of info telling you what you MUST and MUSTN'T do get to you.

I've been going through the same thing the last few days. But unlike you it's for a short time. She goes home tomorrow. I'm a dog sitter and just as I'm feeling I'm getting into a routine she's going home. Missing her already.
It's been a very short time. Persevere with it. Toilet training is tricky. Luna eats 4 times a day. And she won't poo out the garden so have to walk her each time. It takes a lot of time. Its a big commitment having a puppy.

Hey I'm in a similar situation, I'm no expert but I'm having luck with going outside after every meal, drink, espcially after a nap and some inbetween. I feel like I'm spending more time outside than in, but hopefully it'll reduce! I also wait a minimum of 10 minutes if she's not done anything. She gets a big fuss and a couple of treats if she does go outside. I'd say it's been about 75% outside and the rest inside, with the inside ones being mostly my own fault for not getting her up and out or rushing back in too quick. Also the enzyme cleaner is a must as they look for familar spots to pee, and the enzyme cleaner removes the smells so they can't find the ones in the house.
