Call this a hunch but has he ever trialled with a black dog ?

 eh just wondering why u asking that fleesh????

HI all , iv read the posts with interest , i race my dog in the peds and at the club i race , when a dog interferes with another no matter how long it has raced clean , it immediately goes back to trials ...is it not the same for none ped racing ?

surly the dog in question needs more schooling not barring from clubs !

well said, Stark common sence is usually the best answer.

NICE TO SEE SLIPPER RUNNING AGAIN AT THE GEORGE HAGGART MEMORIAL OPEN AT KIRKCALDY W.R.C AVENT GLAD TO SEE HE HAD A SPEEDY RECOVERY

As whippet racers we are ALL guilty of shouting from the side when dogs are running. This can be very off putting for some dogs and MAY cause distraction and loss of concentration. We ought to follow the Pedigree Racers who do NOT shout their dogs. Also (from experience) if you put blinkers on a dog, for whatever reason, immediately people jump to the conclusion its a FIGHTER. We put blinkers on one of our dogs due to an eye defect. I was at the traps when my husband was putting the dog in to race and I heard some say "glad I'm not in that race that dogs got to be a FIGHTER as its got blinkers on" People are far too quick to pass judgement. We NEVER put the blinkers on the dog again, eye defect or not. The blinkers were suggested to us by a Vet. Kestrel don't give up and take no notice of the harsh critics there are in our sport.

Must agree with you honeybee about distractions-(not saying this was the cause in this case)-but there can be alot of shouting/whistle blowing etc at times.

I would also add though that I find greyhound racing lacks atmosphere because not many shout for their dogs as they do in whippet racing.

 Maybe it's those who are on the sidelines should be blinkered as they seem to do more fighting than the dogs. Only poking a bit of fun....but maybe there's some truth in that.

I'm going to get into trouble for that one.... :teehee:

ANYONE SEEN VIDEO OF KESTRAL FLYERS RACE AT NEWTON AYCLIFFE WHERE HE CAME ACROSS THE COURSE, WAS HE AT FAULT , WAS HE SPOOKED , OR WAS HE INTERFERED WITH FIRST , PLEASE VIEW YOUR THOUGHTS

I AM SORRY TO SAY , I HAVE WATCHED THE RACE COUNTLESS TIMES AND KES DOES GO STRAIGHT FOR THE OTHER DOGS IN THE RACE. OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVE NOT HAD THE TAPE TO VIEW THIS FOR YOURSELF.I HAVE HAD A FIGHTER MYSELF SO I KNOW WHAT THIS MEENS TO YOU.WITH TRAIL AND ERROR IT MAY COME OUT OF HIM LETS ALL HOPE SO.BUT IN THE MEANTIME I SUGGEST A LOT MORE SCHOOLING ON THE LURE,MAY I SUGGEST TRYING HIM FOR A FEW WEEKS ALONE WITHOUT ANY OTHER DOG AND WITHOUT A MUZZLE SO HE CAN HAVE THE LURE AT THE END OF THE RACE HE MIGHT NOT BE SO FRUSTRATED AND GET A LOT KEENER FOR THE LURE ITSELF AND NOT THE DOGS.I HAVE SEEN YOUR DOG DO THIS A FEW TIMES AND IT SEEMS TO BE WHEN HE IS PUT UNDER PRESSURE WITH THE FASTER DOGS.

The reason I asked about the trialling with a black dog is because I have a bend video which shows him tackling the black coloured dog during the race. I have looked at the Derby video very carefully and it is my own opinion that Kes comes out theRed Trap and after overtaking the Blue to come in for the lure he spots the black coloured dog (Masai) over on the opposite side of the track and makes a bee-line, I think Slipper was just unlucky to get caught in the way as he came over. It may be silly but he may have a "thing" about Black Coloured Dogs. Worth a try anyhow.

I DON"T WANT TO GET INVOLVED WITH THIS BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE TO HAVE A FIGHTER,I HAVE SEEN THE VIDEO AND MY OPINION IS HE HAD A RIGHT OLD GO NOT ONE BUT ALL FOUR DOGS,I HOPE MY COMMENTS DON"T OFFEND ANYONE BUT THATS MY OPINION

KESTRAL FLYER WAS IN THE ORANGE

In that case Orange dog passes Black trap dog I know I haven't got the wrong dog but I forget the traps are the other way round on the video.

:) THIS IS JUST MY OPINION AND I HAVE SEEN THE VID COUNTLESS TIMES AS IM THE ONE WHO IS DOING THEM LOL BUT I DONT KNOW ABOUT KESTRAL FLYER BEING UNDER PRESSURE AS TO GET TO THE ORANGE DOG WHICH IS WHAT HE DOES HE GOES ACROSS ALL THE OTHER FOUR THEREFORE MEANING HE IS IN FRONT OF THEM. I DO THINK FLEESH CUD B RIGHT THERE AS IT IS MASAI HE SEEMS TO WANT TO GET TO. HE SEEMS TO BE A PRETTY FAST DOG SO I HOPE THE OWNERS DO MANAGE TO GET IT OUT OF HIM. :luck:

 SOZ IM GETTING MIXED UP WITH THE COLOURS TOO KESTRAL FLYER GOES ACROSS THE TRACK TO GET TO THE RED DOG

Yes, Kestral flyer was certainly out first and had the race won in my opinion had he continued-what I saw was him looking across at the orange fencing on far left hand side, he made me look too thinking one of his owners was there. then it all went wrong for him, the other dogs had caught him up and he lost the plot, as well as the lure.

Thats my opinion.

Yes he certainly has speed to burn, and I've watched him much more than just a few times.

:) AFTER READING THESE REPORTS,. ALL THAT SAY HE WASN,T FIGHTING MUST CERTAINLY BE ON DRUGS (L.S.D) BECAUSE YOU ARE CERTAINLY ILLUSANATING. HAVE YOU WATCHED THE VID UNTIL THEN DO NOT COMMENT. THANKYOU JOHN GILL.

P.S. I HAVE KNOWN LOTS OF DOGS TACKLE WHITE DOGS NOT BLACK, BECAUSE THE MAJORITY OF LURES ARE WHITE .

JIM BRANNON RULES OK
