Hi, are you giving him the same food that the breeder was giving him? I've just got an 8 week old jack russell and he is on dried food but not noticed any blood in his poo, don't want to worry you but it's probably a good idea that your taking him to the vet. Has he been wormed? He looks adorable :- )

hi, yes ive kept him on same food, hes been wormed but next due on the 5th dec. and thanks he is a lovely little guy

Hmm, not sure what else it could be then, have you looked online for what it might be?

no usually it gives you worst cases of what it may be, i think a trip to the vet sooner rather than later is in order

Yes, straight to the vet - have you called the beeder to ask advice?

Welcome to Dog Forum btw! :)

so many things that can cause a young dog a tummy upset, if your feeding the same kibble then have introduced him to any other food stuffs that he hasn't had before, dont get giving raw hide treats as a lot of rawhide is pork and some dogs have trouble with it giving them the runs.

Has your pup had his 1st vaccination some diseases in young dogs such as Parvo can be fatal and they go downhill quickly.

My advice would be to take the pup to a vet asap to rule out anything sinister, stick to the kibble your feeding and dont go adding any other food stuff yet, if your treating for good behaviour use his kibble and just take it out of his daily food allowance so he isnt being over fed. What are you feeding just out of curiosity ??

feeding him the same as breeder which is james wellbeloved turkey & rice kibble from pets at home, not giving treats like you said just the odd kibble. he seems fine in himself just going to ring vets in the morning and get him in asap.....i will keep you guys informed

ok had his first injection and sending a sample of his jobby away for testing, hes coming alive now having got used to his new home and i must say hes a joy, just got to crack the going to toilet on the mat lark lol

Your breeder should have given him his first injection at about 6 weeks old, oh well now he is on the way to being protected from nasties .
