Fly would like to announce to all his Bristol Walkies friends (and anyone else who is interested) that last night he won the competition on Ben Prater's Drive Time on Radio Bristol to become 'Prater's Perfect Pooch'! He insists that it will not change his life (he has a pretty darned good life already!).

Apparently the prize consists of a grooming session - one of the judges is a groomer and she obviously knew what she was doing picking a whippet as the winner! I am sure he will enjoy having his ears and nails done professionally - it will make a nice change after my usual cack-handed efforts!

Other prizes are rumoured to be a trophy (will have to make room on the mantelpiece) and a load of food/treats, plus a bone made of Bristol Blue Glass - not sure what he is going to do with that, but I am sure it will look nice!

His photo was shown behind Richard Angwin, the BBC Points West weatherman, for all of 3 seconds last night, but it was very exciting!

We are very thrilled - what a clever boy!
